Solar Project Development Engineer

İltekno is seeking for a  Solar Project Development Engineer! Solar Project Development Engineer duties will include support of potential solar power plant projects. Candidate must be able to successfully assist with preparation of plans and applicable specifications and must be able to interface with, and provide general project support to, senior project professionals. The position holder will report to Electrical Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Determinate customer requirements for potential PV projects,
• Establish conceptual design for new PV solar and energy storage utility scale projects,
• Prepare conceptual site layout drawings and system one-line diagrams,
• Basic analyze and simulate PV project energy production; Perform energy generation modeling for solar projects using computer aided tools and software,
• Develop customer feasibility/avoided cost reports (BoQ) as required, research and submit local incentive and utility rebate applications, as well as assist in the development and coordination of technical RFP/RFQ proposals,
• Prepare PV application form documents for EDAŞ,
• Calculate, prepare required documents and final design for existing projects,
• Approve final designs by the customer and relevant authority(EDAŞ, TEDAŞ),
• Coordinate with Electrical Project Manager, Project Development Manager, the Project Engineers, Contract Management and Finance lead to develop and Facilitate renewable project deal structuring (project deal strategy, economics, and contract forms),
• Produce preliminary and final economic feasibility reports, including pro forma models and associated pricing with an emphasis on project risk/feasibility in order to pre-qualify deals,
• Support key project development activities, including supporting schedule development, design and construction feedback for critical permits, PPA, and project financings or project sales,
• Work with Electrical Project Manager or Project Development Manager, and Project Engineers to assemble RFP/RFQ proposals including, pre-bid job walk coordination, technical writing, project scope and pricing, interview presentations, and coordination of all other necessary input,
• Research, evaluate, and select system components including panels, inverters, racking, batteries, battery management systems, and grid interconnection,
• Work directly with customer representatives throughout the project development process to resolve issues and maintain the project schedule,
• Support the financial due diligence process by working with the finance team and providing supporting project documentation,
• Strengthen knowledge of solar and photovoltaic systems industry, structure, trends, issues to ensure full understanding of customer business objectives and requirements,
• Understand and comply with the İltekno’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards,

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree / Master’s in Electrical & Electronics Engineering / Renewable Energy or relevant discipline,
• 2+ years of direct Project Management/Development experience, preferably in utility scale solar development, utility infrastructure or construction industry projects,
• Experience in solar PV Grid-Tie installation projects for commercial and industrial customers,
• Financial planning, budgeting, organizational and resource management abilities,
• Excellent verbal, written, technical, and computer communication and presentation skills required,
• Knowledge of solar and storage technologies a plus,
• Ability to evaluate priorities and multi-task accordingly while keeping others apprised of status with respect to deadlines,
• Ability to identify problems and discrepancies, independently perform research and analysis of causes, and recommend corrective actions,
• Must be detail and results-oriented with an ability to work in a cross-functional, fast paced, and constantly evolving environment,
• Team player to work in concert with the development team, finance team and engineering and procurement teams,
• Advanced level of knowledge in PV plant performance analysis, Electrical Design, Design for Constructability,Solar Industry best practices,Substation concepts,Transmission Line Design Concepts,Grounding System Design Concepts,Project Scheduling Concepts,Equipment Specifications,
• Proficient in the PVSol, PVsyst or related 3D simulation program, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Schedule software (MS Project) experience a plus,
• Demonstrated team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude, attention to detail, strong work ethic and a drive to deliver results is a must,
• Excellent problem-solving skills and quick reaction time in a changing environment,
• Flexible, smart, analytical, and personable,
• Self-starter who can independently complete tasks ahead of schedule,
• Flexibility to travel as required,
