Solar Project Engineer

İltekno is seeking for a Solar Project Engineer! Solar Project Engineer duties will include support of functions related to construction of solar power plants in field. Candidate must be able to successfully assist with preparation of plans and applicable specifications and must be able to interface with, and provide general project support to, senior project professionals.

Responsibilities

• Specify pertinent equipment including inverters, cabling/terminations, interconnection equipment, protective systems, panelboards, transformers, and other miscellaneous equipment required to interconnect the engineered systems,
• Conduct evaluations of equipment as required, to determine compliance with applicable standard(s),
• Work with the Project Team to develop project objectives by reviewing proposals and schedules,
• Organize and determine project specifications by reviewing customer requirements, standards, and or go-by information,
• Plan, coordinate and execute project work and keep the client informed,
• Take and/or review meeting minutes from project meetings,
• Validate the project scope and sample applicability,
• Identify Scope Changes or Additions and communicate with the project team to develop the associated Change Management Documents,
• Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems with other disciplines,
• Identify critical path and/or progress inhibiting items, recommends corrective recommends corrective action, and coordinates with the project team to follow through with implementation plan,
• Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends,
• Review of Vendor Quotes, Develop Technical Bid Evaluations, and Perform Clarifications,
• Ensure adherence to and implementation of Company Standard Operation Procedures,
• Review and coordinate vendor documentation to ensure that the appropriate discipline reviewers are included on Squad Checks, and that the returned comments are complete and encompassing of the overall design objective,
• Review plans and specifications to develop and implement the quality plan and prepare a checklist of definable features of work that require quality inspections
• List items the sub-contractor must submit for approval prior to the start of the work,
• Assist with cost estimates and project scheduling as needed,
• Attend Project Reviews and Meetings (Design Review, PHAs, Weekly Meetings, etc.)
• Assist with preparing statements of work, submittals, change management, and necessary daily and weekly reporting,
• Provide technical input and interface for Engineering and Design deliverables including the production of some discipline specific deliverables,
• Prepare RFQ package for MCC Building, Transformer, Generator, etc. and review of Vendor Quotes, Develop Technical Bid Evaluations with Clarifications.
• Review Design Deliverables: Area Classification, Cable Schedule, Installation Details, Location Plans, Grounding Plans, Lighting Plans, Panel Drawings, Junction Box Drawings etc.
• Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing within the scope of the project,
• Set up and operate equipment under test (EUT)
• Perform testing of products in accordance with standards. Core tests include, but are not limited to: rating, leakage current, dielectric, temperature, pressure, stability, mechanical hazard, flammability, abnormal and fault insurance, rain, etc.
• Provide construction and commissioning support,
• Promote safety in construction operations and ensure compliance with safety requirements,
• Inspect equipment, material, workmanship, and finished construction,
• Check the progress of work in the field to ensure compliance with productivities and schedules,
• Manage processes of pay applications, subcontractor billings, and accounts payable,
• Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed, and the materials used conform to required specifications,
• Provide support for warranty processes as a technical responsible of the projects,

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree / Master’s in Electrical & Electronics Engineering / Renewable Energy or relevant discipline,
• Min. 3 years of experience within the construction industry, min 2 years of experience within the solar field,
• Experience and knowledge of photovoltaic systems and system interconnection,
• Advanced level of knowledge in technical writing: Drafting reports, papers and /or assessments to a high standard,
• Must be able to function well as a technical trainer. A working understanding of energy project finance is preferred,
• Experience with equipment selection, procurement,
• Organize critical path items from project inception through to commercial operation,
• Ability to communicate issues and to clearly communicate complex technical issues to peers, Across Departments, Suppliers and Clients and a non-technical audience as required,

• Advanced level of knowledge in PV plant performance analysis, Electrical Design, Design for Constructability,Solar Industry best practices,Substation concepts,Transmission Line Design Concepts,Grounding System Design Concepts,Project Scheduling Concepts,Equipment Specifications,
• Fundamental understanding of CAD concepts,
• Fundamental knowledge of PV Simulation software such as PYSYST and SAM,
• Fundamental knowledge of GIS software,
• Statistics including uncertainty analysis and regression models,
• Ability to work both independently and as a team lead in a fast-paced environment, including process new information quickly,
• Advanced level of English,
