Trade Compliance & Logistics Specialist

Franklin Electric, one of the leading manufacturers of international water and fueling systems, is looking for a‘’ Logistics Specialist ‘’. The position will be based at Impo Motor Pompa San. Tic. A.S. Izmir site, which is the leader of the Turkish submersible pump industry.

This role will be responsible to monitor, measure and solution inbound and outbound logistics activities and costs in a geographic region across the supply chain – procurement to customer delivery . 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Inbound Logistics

• Work with sourcing and purchasing teams to coordinate logistics to ensure shipment and on-time delivery performance to support production requirements and maintain costs.
• Serve as logistics point of contact for all external and internal suppliers serving region. Provide direction to suppliers regarding ship schedule requirements and containment plan when behind schedule. Decision making on timing for supplier ship schedules - allowing them to push material out, pull ahead and expedite material as needed based on inventory coverage at plant.
• Track critical parts and develop/execute containment plan to ensure no interruptions or down time to manufacturing line, inclusive of decision making on mode and required delivery window to ensure continuity of production.
• Independent monitoring, set-up, and cancellation of truck loads for material pick-up, as necessary to support schedule variations.

Outbound Logistics

• Work with commercial teams to coordinate logistics to ensure shipment and on-time delivery performance to support customer requirements and maintain costs.
• Investigate and resolve issues stemming from outbound freight shipments.
• Develop and maintain issue resolution report templates.
• Reduce occurrences of lost/damaged freight by establishing increased focus on processes.
• Collaborate with 3rd party logistics management partner to improve carrier performance and costs.
• Collaborate with internal and external business partners to delivery best experience to the customer.

Trade Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all trade regulations related to the company's import and export business, including recordkeeping and reporting.
• Fully review and maintains all tariff classifications, free trade eligibility, countries of origin and maintains certificates and data accuracy of these items.
• Monitor status of containers for compliance or broker issues and assists the supply chain team with imported shipments as needed.
• Assist international teams with exported shipments, including foreign country tariff codes, equivalent requests, etc. as needed.
• Conduct spending/cost analysis as requested.
• Drive efficiency and strengthens compliance by participating in trade related projects and automation efforts.
• Support standardization and harmonization of trade compliance operations and processes within the organization.
• Support risk assessments to identify compliance concerns and coordinates with appropriate internal partners to achieve resolution.
• Serve as an internal consultant to provide necessary services concerning trade compliance issues
• Monitor the latest developments in relevant trade compliance legislation.

General

• Maintain and update the regional trade compliance and logistics playbook as the market, services, and partnerships change.
• Measure to key performance indicators.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for all applicable department processes.
• Develop strong relationships with carriers and other logistics service providers.
• Monitor actual costs to plan.  Mitigate variances where needed.
• Continually educate on latest compliance guidance to develop core expertise.
• Travel to locations required up to 15%.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Abilities

• Basic Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Visio, Project, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Access.
• JDE Enterprise One (Preferred) 
• Problem Solving–Uses a logical, systematic search for the source of a problem, determining the most likely cause by eliminating potential causes of a problem
• Strong sense of urgency
• Keen attention to detail and results driven
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize accordingly
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required  
• 3 - 5 years oftrade compliance and logistics experience preferred
• Experience working with all modes of transportation, domestic and international (international strength a plus) 
• Evidence of training and certifications preferred
