Our client is one of the leading Holding companies producing finished and semi-finished products for different industries for more then 70 years. For their German joint-venture company is in food sector, which is the first producer of a specific halal product.
We are looking for an experienced financial executive, with a proven ability as a business partner who has strong English and communication skills and experiences in an international group environment.
The Finance Manager is a senior level position, responsible for all Finance, Accounting & Treasury, Controlling & Cost Accounting, Legal, Tax & Insurance activities and will directly report to General Manager as well as Global Vice-President of Finance.
1. Responsibilities:
a. Overarching responsibilities:
- Execution of planning, budget and control processes in line with global functions from HQ and the local team and reporting
- Provides information to the reporting line at short notice in the event of significant deviations, opportunities or risks influencing the local entity’s financial situation
- Responsible for governance and compliance in the below mentioned functional areas in accordance with HQ departments and in cooperation with company auditors and external legal advisors,
- Initiates and establishes efficiency and effectivity improvement measures for administration processes
b. Finance, Accounting & Treasury:
- Controls financial accounting operations
- Ensures adherence to local accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP/etc.) at local level (HB I) and adjustments to global (HB II)
- Supervise transactional bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, inventory valuation, general ledger
- Manages and optimizes Cash Flow (incl. working capital control)
- Manages relationships with local banks
c. Controlling & cost accounting:
- Leverages management accounting information to ensure financial stability and sustained profit growth of the group
- Responsible for local cost management process
- Defines and implements plans and actions to achieve the operational/profitability targets
- Prepares ROI calculations to support proposed investments/business cases
- Supports local Risk Management
d. Legal, Tax & Insurance:
- Manages local legal entity affairs and regulatory reporting of the company in cooperation and constant exchange of information with the HQ
- Manages local tax affairs and tax filings and ensures compliance with global transfer pricing and other relevant policies
- Manages local business insurance coverage in coordination with regional and global resources
2. Qualification, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- At minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Economics with an Accounting qualification (local GAAP experience is essential – IFRS, German GAAP, Certified Public Accountant or experience in an audit firm would be advantageous)
- 15 years’ experience in Finance/Accounting and Controlling, 5-7 years at upper-middle to senior management level.
- Proven ability as business partner, with excellent professional discipline and well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Understanding of critical/strategic leadership imperatives, while also being able to provide hands on and operational support in the business
- Strong capability in cost accounting and analysis
- Understanding of continuous improvement processes and PDCA discipline to drive efficient and effective administrative functions
- Experience with and knowledge of modern ERP systems
- Fluent in English – proficiency in German would be a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and able to convey complex financials in a clear and transparent way
