Database Specialist

Izmir University of Economics is looking for Database Specialist with below qualifications to join the software development team in projects developed within the body of the Directorate.

• Experience building clustered MySQL servers
• Troubleshooting server OS (Linux) issues on Production Servers.
• Ability to lead database server related architecture discussions
• Manage user/group security, data access levels, and encryption of sensitive data.
• Must have solid understanding of Linux Servers and Linux Clustering
• Must have solid understanding in DB performance optimization.
• Must have experience with Backups, restores, snap-shots, and index maintenance.
• Manage all database instances including installation, configuration and maintenance
• Ability to work in a team environment and partner effectively with others
• High-degree of self-motivation to learn new methodologies/technologies that will enhance job performance
• Determined and willing to do what it takes to get the job done
• Provide clear documentation in addition to keeping said documentation current.
• Knowledge of Disaster recovery, Replication, Redundant systems.

İŞ TANIMI

• A good command of written and spoken English,
• Experience with HA technologies (Disaster Recovery, Failover, Replication, Mirroring, and Load Balancing),
• Min. 5 years’ experience with database backup and recovery procedures,
• Min. 5 years’ experience in the configuration and optimization of database storage devices,
• Linux/UNIX administration and shell scripting knowledge,
• Experience with automation of DBA tasks
