Kalimbassieris Maritime seeks to employ a Marine Engineer Surveyor to join our technical team inIstanbul office.

We are a leading marine consultancy firm offering both in depth technical expertise and claims handling services. We act as marine consultants, P&I correspondents and insurance average agents. Our clients are the international marine insurance markets, P&I clubs, white list ship registries and other shipping commercial interests.

Established in Greece in 1979, today we have 11 offices throughout the Mediterranean and Black Sea and are the biggest network in the region.

Job Title:-

Marine Engineer Surveyor based in our office in Istanbul, Turkey

Key Responsibilities will include:-

•       Carrying out marine damage investigations and loss prevention surveys onboard merchant vessels

•       Assisting clients with local repair alternatives and technical solutions

•       Preparing reports on survey findings, with particular emphasis on nature, extent and cause of damage

•       Communicating with and appointing specialists and subcontractors, as/if necessary

•       Communicating with the other offices of the Group, co-operation with other engineers/surveyors on technical matters

•       Freedom for domestic and international travelling

Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience:-

•       Merchant Marine Academy graduate, with seagoing experience on worldwide trading ships

•       Shore experience as Superintendent Engineer or Technical Manager in shipping company will be considered as an advantage

•       Surveying experience, i.e. classification society, would also be an advantage

•       Good knowledge of ship repair practices amongst Turkish shipyards and repair contractors

•       Fluent in written and spoken English

•       Ability to work under pressure

•       Organized and detail-oriented

•       Able to multitask and prioritize using good time management skills

•       Comfortable in working with minimal supervision and also working as part of a team
