Data and Visualization Librarian

Koç University Suna Kıraç Library will be hiring a  Data and Visualization Librarian with the following qualifications:

• Graduates of Computer Engineering/Science departments
• Preferably, Master’s degree in library science
• Knowledge of visualisation programs such as PowerBI, tableau, ArcGIS,etc.
• Knowledge of programing languages such as, phyton, R coding.
• Understanding of the life cycle of data
• Using external APIs, and integrating with other services
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Fast learner and self-motivated
• Good communication and presentation ability
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects
• Excellent command of English in both written and spoken
• No military obligation for male candidates

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Supports students and faculty with their data visualization research and practice via consultations, and through teaching and instruction
• Collects, organizes, analyzes, and creates visualizations of data related to publication and research impact
• Forges new collaborations and relationships that extend the Library’s capacity to support the university’s interdisciplinary initiatives and emerging Technologies
• Tests new tools and visualization frameworks
• Serves on Library and university committees
• Keeps current with relevant research in of higher education library trends
