QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Koç University will be hiring a Koç University Press Editor with the below mentioned qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from a reputable university.
Master's degree in Communications, Humanities or Social/Administrative Sciences is preferred
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in publishing
Experience in editing a variety of texts – especially academic research
Excellent command of both written and spoken English
In-depth knowledge of MS Office applications
Strong interpersonal communication skills
No military obligation for male candidates

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Editor is responsible for:

Being in control for the timely execution of the whole production process that starts with soliciting or receiving manuscripts and culminating in the distribution of the published books to bookstores.
Coordinating work done by translators, proofreaders, the public relations office, and the media.
Working with the publishing coordinator in carrying out the production program.
Bringing newly submitted manuscripts and book projects to the attention of the editorial board.
Being up to date with titles of special interest published worldwide as well as academic work in Turkey falling within the scope of Koç University Press series.
Conducting all correspondence concerning manuscripts.
Working with the publishing coordinator, other editors, authors and other parties concerned to bring published books to a wider audience, organizing events, setting up interviews, commissioning reviews, creating ads, etc.
