With the approach of “design carries the product to the brand”, Mavi cooperates with designers and consultants from all over the world and has a multi-cultural designer team based in İstanbul. Most famous and successful jean designer Adriano Goldschmied, queen of best-fits Venucia de Russi, Rıfat Özbek, who designed his first jeans collection for Mavi, Hussein Chalayan, who designed his first collection with a Turkish brand, are some of the world-famous designers that Mavi has already worked with.

Fabric Sourcing Manager’s overall responsibility is to support Sourcing & Design Teams with all fabric development and pre-production setup for Mavi. We’re looking a positive, supportive partner who is competent on the fabric development process through to production.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop new seasonal fabrics
• Set the right pricing strategy for fabric sourcing in line with the manufacturing cost,
• Review fabric submits for color and quality from development to production,
• Communicate with design & sourcing teams on quality and color issues during the development and production process
• Manage fabric sourcing and fabric concept boards,
• Keep records of fabrics developed, maintain internal fabric sourced library,
• Support all stages of supplier and fabric sourcing, development and quality efforts; communicate to production team the performance testing needs,
• Maintain an awareness of the latest technical developments in fiber, market trends, and fabric projection and its application to the production of products

• Bachelor’s degree in textiles or equivalent experience preferred,
• Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in fabric sourcing & development in textiles or ready to wear industry,
• Solid and clear understanding of general fabric development process,
• Very detail oriented and ability to drive to completion with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills,
• Clear understanding of weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, and finishing techniques,
• Solid negotiation techniques are needed,
• Experience in international supply base is a plus.
