Medical Physics Applications Support Specialist

We are looking for an enthusiastic medical physicist to join us at the leading edge of radiotherapy! 

Job Description:

- Educate new users on proprietary software and hardware system on MEDITEL Healthcare oncology products.

- Lead classroom lectures and sessions to ensure customers are trained to operate Accuray, PTW, CIVCO, MIM and etc... equipment according to safety guidelines with the highest level of satisfaction.

- Work directly with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicits, Radiation Therapists, Dosimetrists, Physicist and Engineers in the training environment.

Activities and Responsibilities Will Include:

- Have excellent communication skills.

- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.

- Clinical Radiation experience essential.

- Commissioning Radiotherapy Devices (TomoTherapy, Cyberknife, Linacs etc...) and treatment Planning Systems

- Calibration and quality assurance

- Develops a thorough understanding of all radiation beam measurements and other product specific tests necessary to support products, as well as the tolerances of those measurements and the potential clinical impact of each parameter.

- Experience in IGRT, IG-IMRT, Helical IMRT, SIB, SBRT, SRS, Motion Management and etc... 

- Contouring and treatment planning execution, and oversight.

- Basic knowledge of anatomy.

- Basic knowledge of CT, MRI and PET-CT structure.

- Excellent presentation and customer service skills.

- Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of users.

- Must have strong troubleshooting, analytic, and problem-solving skills.

- Works effectively in teams and self-directed

- Demonstrates ability and work under pressure situations.

- Must be able to multitask, be organized.

- Knowing Aria or Mosaiq or MIM is a plus.

- Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Learns to use professional concepts. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.

- Responds to customer enquiries and issues related to machine and patient QA activities in a timely and professional fashion.

- Works on problems of limited scope.

- Provides support to Sales and Marketing.

- Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.

- Interaction builds stable working relationships internally.

- Supervision normally receives detailed instructions on work.

- Must be highly self-motivated and able to perform day to day work with little or no direct supervision, whilst still maintaining good integration to working with the wider team.

- Follow local regulations (such as radioprotection rules – attends and runs Audits at customer).

- Appropriate management and timely completion of timesheets and expense reports incurred in the field of service.

- Assist in the development of service or training documentation, in conjunction with the MEDITEL Healthcare Customer Service team.

- Follow Company training as needed. (e.g. training of MEDITEL Healthcare and/or Accuray in Europe, USA and/or Turkey).

Health, Safety and Regulations:

- Constant training to gain and maintain a sound knowledge and systematically apply national laws and regulations on health & safety in the workplace environment, particularly concerning radiation and electrical safety.

- Observe MEDITEL Healthcare and Accuray Safety Program requirements and work practices.

- Takes ownership of individual safety to maintain a safe work environment.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- The employee must routinely lift and/or move physical inventory, tools and test equipment, office supplies, or stored records weighing up to 40 kilos.

- The employee may be required to climb ladders, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required during the calibration, commissioning, development, and testing products.

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics and must have a Masters degree in Medical Physics.

• At least 2 years experience medical physics experience (Preferred)  
• Teaching: 1 year+ (Preferred)
• Presentation Skills: 1 year+ (Preferred)

- Good H/W and S/W computer skills, including network knowledge and the use of standard office software programs including spreadsheet, word processing and email applications. Ability to quickly learn to use new software tools.

- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer relations skills and strong customer service orientation. 

- Team player - ability to work well in a close team environment.

- Must be qualified with Turkish National Atomic Agency, Turkish Ministry of Health Clinical Support & Sales and Support Licensing.

- Must be comfortable with extensive travel (up to 80% travel time), sometimes on short notice, and occasional after-hours support requirements. On rare occasions, you may be away from your home base for multiple weeks and may be asked to travel internationally.

- Valid driver’s license is a must

- If applicable, military status should be completed.
