Claim and Contracts Engineer to be assigned to our project in Iraq / Baghdad

·           Graduated preferably from construction engineering or a closely related field,

·           Minimum 4 years of professional experience in similar position, preferably in large scale superstructure projects

·           Tendering, claim, contract or business development experience in international projects, preferably in Middle East and North Africa Regions

·           Ability to work under pressure

·           Analytical thinking, successful in teamwork

·           Flexible, self motivated and innovative

·           Strong communication skills,

·           Good command of written and spoken English (Arabic language skill will be an asset)

·           Advanced MS Office and SAP skills

Job Description ;

·         Drafting and monitoring all the contracts of the project

·         Examining all contract proposals of the project , determining of the contractual risks and reporting accordingly;

·         Ensuring the fulfillment of the rights and obligations in the agreement;

·         Evaluating warranty period demands and negotiating of a new claims;

·         Controlling and taking necessary actions about the claims;

·         Regular reports on progress , delays and critical areas to the Claim and Contracts Manager,

·         Monitoring and ensuring compliance and optimization of processes

·         Ensuring adherence to policies, legislative requirements

·         Establishing and maintaining quality standards in respect of accurate claims management

·         Proactive risk/claim assessment for site construction contracts.

·         Providing proactively recommendations & advice on how to avoid any additional cost and where not possible how to minimize the costs of legitimate claims.

·         Ensuring the successful execution of site construction contracts according to agreed commercial obligations, financial and qualitative targets.

·         Ensuring all site costs are recorded in detail to provide transparent feedback in order improve the tender and budget preparation of future contracts

·         Ensuring the correct Site Purchasing process and tools are in place and followed

Tasks include,

·         Ensure fully auditable dossiers,

·         Prepare / defend changes / claims as required,

·         Documenting, filing and back up,

·         Negotiation and recording of meetings,

·         Reporting regularly

·         Close out and agreement procedures
