Legal Manager

What we look for in a candidate:

• We are looking for candidates with experience in managing a legal team and have demonstrated their ability to effectively deliver value
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, people management and communication skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills experienced in working with senior management
• Demonstrates depth of understanding of industry trends, business drivers and ability to navigate complex organizational business problems
• Master Law degree is required / registration with the Turkish Bar
• Minimum of 5 - 10 years of professional experience as an in-house lawyer and/or outside counsel
• Prior work experience in legal teams in Insurance industry and multinational corporation is a strong preference
• A global mind-set and cultural flexibility
• Leadership skills to motivate team members, create a positive work environment, and resolve conflicts
• Ability to work independently and professionally
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive areas
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English & Turkish 

About the job

• Provide legal advice to management of NN Hayat ve Emeklilik A.Ş. and ensure that their current or proposed activities, policies, business practices, and transactions comply with all relevant laws and regulations and manage the external attorneys
• Provide conclusions on accordance of the contracts, regulations, orders and other documents of the company to the relevant legislation.
• Draft legal agreements and assess relevant agreements
• Ensure legal documentations are updated & completed to protect the company assets & interests
• Coordinate the preparation and filing for state registration of changes to the statutory documents of the company
• Coordinate and organize protection the interests of the company in court and with official institutions and third parties
• Participate in the preparation of responses to complaints and requests from public authorities
• Liaise with regional and global legal group(s), as applicable, in support of the company.
• Implement global and regional legal policies
• Educate company officials with regulations relating to their activities, as well as changes in existing legislation, regulations and policies of company
• Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer NN Hayat ve Emeklilik A.Ş. as well as NN Group legal counsel.
