QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
PIT is the Project Management Company of Peninsula Istanbul Hotel Project located Karakoy, Istanbul area. PIT is now seeking to hire a Senior Cost Control Engineer to support the Project Management team.
Job Description
- Responsible for maintaining, updating of Peninsula Hotel Project cost control tools; budget documents and system, cash flow projections, payment requisitions.
- Track, monitor, report realization of the project costs, perform budget updates for costs realized and variances in the budget. Maintain record of variances, trends that may potentially effect Construction budget.
- Prepare, review and obtain approvals for Consultants/Contractor payment certificates, tracks invoices, payments with the Consultants, Contractors, and Vendors
- Review, manage and supervise Contractor’s cost control departments payment requisition submissions
- Review/evaluate contractor, Contractor change orders in coordination with Project controls engineers.
- Manage, review and comment on the deliverables of the Quantity Surveyor (3rd party consultant working for the Project) and Purchasing Agent and any other consultant required to provide estimates at each phase of the Hotel Project. Seek clarifications on any cost studies, estimates or cost plans prepared by the Quantity Surveyor.
- Assign budget cost codes and maintain cost code system
- Re-allocate, transfer funds within budget as necessary with the development of design and construction with approval of the Department Manager.
- In conjunction with the QS, update monitor Hard Cost Budget and Cash flow
- In conjunction with the other departments, update, monitor, report Opex Costs during construction period
- Consolidate all cost information into the Project Budget
- Prepare, track, and report Cash flow projections, coordinate with Finance division on project cash-flow and project financing needs
- Prepare reports on tender budget status for review by JVPD, JVPM and relevant team members, on a regular basis or as required by the JV
- Implement real-time and pro-active cost control procedures
- Preparation of Monthly cost and contingenys status reports and other periodic reportings’ Cost control Sections
- Other duties as assigned.
- Reports to Planning, Cost and Contracts Manager (Line Manager)
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related area from an accredited university, Construction Management minor or Master’s Degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in experience in Cost&Project Controls, change management, High-end luxury hospitality or residential construction project experience is a plus.
- Have an understanding of the overall budget and the project. Understand risks and exposures in design, procurement and construction and make sure there are allowances/holds for these items in the budget as directed by the Technical Office Manager and Project Manager.
- Understanding of Engineering/Construction operations schedules/environments. A solid understanding of construction, drawings & specifications is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Autocad and other PC software packages typically associated with cost control and change management tasks. Take-off software knowledge is a plus.
- Proficient in cost, manpower, and equipment resource loaded schedule.
- Possess strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills, strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, strong moral and ethical responsibility to the principles of sustainability
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize to achieve project goals
- Detail oriented and can manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment with minimal guidance.
