QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Reed Turkey is looking for an "Legal Director" for its international client.
 
  • Excellent skills in legal writing and drafting complex agreements.
  • Significant experience in contract law with respect to production of scripted and non-scripted programming

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in company commercial law and legal and business affairs in Turkey, possibly in the media or TLC sectors.
  • Experience as a litigator in Courts

İŞ TANIMI

  • Act as principal adviser for all legal and compliance matters within company, being responsible to providing legal counsel, legal risk assessment and guidance in the ordinary course of business and on special projects.
  • Be responsible for all corporate governance and regulatory matters, including media regulations, Data Protection regulations, competition law compliance managing the relationship with RTUK and any other relevant Government Body in Turkey.
  • Drafting, negotiating and review of agreements, such as programming acquisition agreements, production agreements, talent agreements, affiliate distribution agreement, advertising sales agreements, marketing agreements, etc.
  • Support and advice the advertising sales activity of the company ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Guide, direct and support the external counsel in the litigation matters.
  • Act as lead/first point of contact for the Managing Director company and its reports
  • Sit in on the relevant executive team meetings being their first legal and compliance advisor
  • Train/educate and keep business teams up-to-date on any relevant legal and regulatory matters (e.g. by having periodic update calls).
  • Responsible for the awareness and full compliance of business teams with 21 CF policies, including anti-bribery policy and any other relevant policy.
  • Successful implementation (and guardian) of workflows and pipelines.
  • Responsible for up-to-date structured folder(s) and overviews on EU-legal database.
  • Knowhow management and general administration.
  • Coordination with the legal departments within company  EU & Africa Legal.
  • Coordination with and instruction of external counsel where necessary, and manage such outside counsel and legal spend.
  • Manage and lead the local legal team with clear assignment of responsibilities making sure the right workflows and procedures are in place and ensuring the excellence of the legal service provided to the business team.
