Company/Business Profile:

RMA Turkey is based in Tuzla Free Trade Zone. Our expert team produces personalized vehicles for African Countries, SEA region and eastern Europe, modifying the Ford base vehicles. The operation mainly builds modified Ford vehicles for Group Companies, UN, Ford dealers and customers.

Overall Purpose of the Role:

The General Manager is responsible for ensuring that the business is efficiently run, with a motivated team of individuals, to meet and exceed the requirements in terms of cost, quality and customer service of RMA and our customers. The role requires an experienced individual, who is both results orientated, process disciplined and capable of leading and motivating the RMA Turkey team and each and every individual.

Internal/External Interactions:

Internal

• Report to the Global Manufacturing & Quality Director based in Thailand
• Work closely with RMA’s global sales teams based in Thailand and the USA
• Lead the local management team in Turkey
• Functional and Operational Peers across RMA

External

• Maintain a positive and metrics driven working relationship with Ford Otosan
• Other suppliers of parts and services
• Government and other regulatory authorities, legal advisors, banks and others

• Develop and manage overall business plan and budget for the operation
• Take the business forward providing vision, inspiration and professionalism of the highest standard.
• Disciplined focus on exceeding quality and customer service (delivery) targets
• Achieve the maximization of profits and return on investment over the long term by the prudent and efficient use of resources, in order to meet and exceed budget targets.
• Ensure all departments control expenses as detailed in budgets and business plan.

Knowledge Responsibilities:

• Maintain up to date knowledge of the modification sector
• Act as ‘subject matter expert’ to colleagues in developing a ‘best practice’ organization

Financial Responsibilities:

• Budget preparation and presentation
• Manage revenue generation against budget
• Cost management -through line management
• Financial Statements’ preparation and presentation

HR Responsibilities:

• Build relationships with all management and staff in order to provide them with the support, coaching and encouragement needed to improve all aspects of their job performance.
• Managing, motivate and train employees across the business in order to achieve the objectives of the division as well as the personal development of the employees.

Travel Requirements:

• Occasional travel within Turkey and to company headquarters in Thailand.

Education/certification:

Certification in manufacturing processes (i.e ‘Lean’) and a relevant degree are preferred but not essential

Knowledge, skills and experience:

Essential:

Demonstrable track record in leading a manufacturing operation.

A thorough understanding of ‘vehicle flow’ in vehicle manufacturing/modification

Proven leadership ability

Other:

Profit & Loss and/or cost/budget management experience

Track record in developing/managing working relationships with key suppliers
