QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Overview

The main challenge on this position will be to optimize and execute logistic and foreign trade tasks considering the complexity of the process (planning, transportation, warehousing, reporting and coordination of multinational internal/external stakeholders) and its compliance with standards, policies and customs legislation. In addition, the position will support foreign trade compliance management.

Key responsibilities

  • Developing the logistics strategy and operating structure and within the organization
  • Partner with the team, aligning across major functional areas including operations, procurement, and finance,
  • Responsible for ensuring day-to-day monitoring of all imports/exports of the business unit to maximize customer satisfaction; escalate potential issues for resolution,
  • Processing orders, creating and sending delivery lists to the logistic providers,
  • Control the whole process of deliveries of the products,
  • Looking for the new logistic and business partners,
  • Coordinate and facilitate timely and compliant international shipments by working with freight forwarders, customs, and vendors/customers,
  • Collaborate with the team and service providers on matters like tariffs, insurance, and quotas; and work with them on how to reduce taxes and duties owed,
  • Negotiates competitive pricing for all import/export shipments,
  • Ensures maintenance of record retention of all export/import documents to meet requirements of all government agencies,
  • Oversee and develop expertise on HS code assignment and free trade agreements across international borders,
  • Expertise on labeling, packaging, shipping, and receiving of imported and exported material,
  • Promoting awareness of, and compliance with, Global Trade Compliance laws and regulations by performing internal transactional audits/assessments as needed,
  • Applying for and obtaining all necessary licenses, permits and approvals for exports and imports in accordance with international export regulations,
  • Providing necessary import/export information to customs brokers, forwarders, and internal stakeholders to ensure proper clearance of imports, exports and other aspects of trade compliance,
  • Coordinate with in-house sales team to promote accurate and timely processing of orders for customers,
  • Working proactively with warehouse team and site operations leaders to improve, review and implement standard processes and procedures,
  • Supporting maintenance of logistics policies, procedures, support plans and similar data,

Experience / Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, international business, supply chain management or engineering,
  • Fluent in in written and spoken English. German is a plus as a secondary language.
  • 5+ years relevant international experience in foreign trade, import & export, logistics and / or transportation environment,
  • Having customs knowledge and experience in customs legislation,
  • Knowledge of export and import processes, controls, and documentation,
  • Ability to read and interpret government regulations,
  • Efficient in using MS Office and other relevant computer-based programs. LOGO Tiger knowledge will be an asset.
  • Advanced analytics and problem-solving skills,

  • Excellent communication and time management skills,
  • Customer Service skills and experience desired,
