EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science & Engineering or experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.
• 5 years of demonstrated expert application development/testing experience using Java
• 5 years of experience with integration tools for middleware integration. 
• 5 years demonstrated experience and expert knowledge applying enterprise scale software development lifecycle.
• 5 or more years of application architecture experience in information technology environment.
• Working experience with MS SQL, ORACLE, MySql relational databases, stored procedures and triggers.
• Strong understanding of hardware and networking topics. 
• Understanding of modern design patterns.
• Proven experience in leading small to mid-sized projects and providing technical team leadership.
• A structured development technique in system development is required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Scrum/Agile software development methodology experience perferred
• Experience in Java development and Enterprise software (Web)
• Ability to code and debug against Java APIs.
• GWT (Google Web Toolkit) experience is a plus
• Experience using Spring, Maven, Gradle and related frameworks and technology is beneficial.
• Integration products experience is preferred
• Experience with Web Services and other Integration technologies
• Demonstrated experience developing SQL/Stored Procedures
• Understanding of high-performance database management software, enterprise hosted/SaaS
• Have a deep understanding of enterprise technologies and business context
• Familiarity with enterprise scale application development/architecture principals and fundamentals
• Working knowledge of research principals and fundamentals
• Participation in user requirements meetings. Formulate and track detailed project schedules and estimates. Maintains a professional and positive image in working with department personnel and other firm employees. Must have strong analytical skills. Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills
• Ability to organize complex thoughts, requirements and data. Ability to perform expert level design, programming and testing
• Use tools as appropriate in course of development and production support assignments
  

PERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Good communication skills (written and verbal) with various stakeholders (including personnel, customers, vendors, etc.)
• Expertise in architecting, developing, implementing, and maintaining applications and services both internal and external to our firm.
• Develop, maintain, and implement custom systems and applications.
• Communicate both technical and business aspects of development projects to users and analysts.
• Write application documentation.
• Keep current with industry standard technologies and development methods necessary to build enterprise grade, scalable systems.
• Create detailed specifications for applications architecture, coding standards, and associated database schema and plan for most efficient method of integrating key elements for one and between multiple applications.
• Mentor and train other programmers
• Exceptional troubleshooting abilities. Act as a technical resource for the team to resolve complex problems.
• Follows department standards in change, release, incident, problem, project, and crisis management.
