QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Located in the prestigious Sariyer district of Istanbul, this historic mansion offers remarkable views over the Bosphorus Strait and incorporates architectural features from the site’s former Ottoman-era buildings. Scope
Serves as Manager on Duty (MOD) for the hotel on the overnight shift and directly oversees Front Desk, Guest Services, Security, and PBX operations, ensuring the highest levels of hospitality and service are provided in the absence of Senior Management.
Represents property management in responding to any guest or host incident.
Ensures that all night audit procedures are completed to both quality and time standards each night.
Communicates important and timely hotel and company information to the overnight team each night as to keep them informed and engaged.
Responsible for initial and ongoing training and development of overnight hosts in addition to holding host accountable for executing their departmental standards.
Acts in the absence of Senior Management on the overnight shift and communicates incidents proactively and effectively with Senior Management.
Assists any department in need of assistance on the overnight shift and communicates incidents with respective department heads.
Prepares daily reports for the hotel and ensures that they are completed to a high-quality standard and sent out in a timely manner each morning.
Maintains a strong working relationship with all departments to support property operations and goals and to expedite the resolution of any problems that may arise through the general operation of the property.
Communicates any variations to the established norms to the appropriate department in a timely manner.
Communicates any guest service-related issues to the rest of the hotel in a timely manner, as appropriate.
Strives to improve service performance on an ongoing basis.
Ensures front office hosts compliance with all established policies and procedures.
Constantly observes host interactions with guests and provides timely feedback as to develop host and improve service levels.
Emphasizes guest satisfaction during daily shift briefings with the overnight team, as well as on the floor, and during departmental meetings.
Coordinates and supervises daily arrivals and departures as well as front office service flow.
Ensures the house is blocked properly and that arrival rooms will be ready on time, keeping in communication with Housekeeping.
Communicates VIP arrivals and in-house to front office team, and meets and engages with VIPs both at arrival as well as while they are in-house.
Performs all night audit functions and completes overnight checklist to a high quality and time standard each night, proactively communicating with Finance Team should any issues arise.
Ensures nightly bucket check and credit check are completed to a high quality standard and that discrepancies are reported and actioned accordingly.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a university related to Hospitality Management or hotel studies.

Minimum 3 years or more of experience in a similar role in a luxury hotel chain.

Very good command over written and spoken both English and Turkish.

Additional languages are beneficial.

Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Opera PMS.

Knowledge of hospitality operations, including emergency evacuation drills.

Excellent communicator with the ability to multitask.

Must be able to manage and work overnight shifts.
