QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Six Senses Kaplankaya presents a mosaic of architecture, history and art, and is within easy reach many famed archaeological sites. There are 141 guestrooms including six suites (75 in the main building and 66 Ridge Villas), all boasting stunning views to the Aegean Sea. Aegean & Mediterranean-inspired fresh, sustainable cuisine interwoven with Turkish elements and flavors is the overarching theme of three dining venues, introducing ‘Eat with Six Senses’ concept by sourcing local and fresh products. The expansive 10,000 square meter Spa, Fitness and Health & Healing Center offers guests and residents a truly integrative approach to optimal wellness. Six Senses Kaplankaya is an idyllic destination for celebrations. It also has facilities to accommodate team-building programs. With many excellent guest experiences on offer, the resort can customize activities to suit active guests and guests who prefer to simply sit back and relax.

Scope

  • Maintains a strong working relationship with all departments to support property operations and goals and to expedite the resolution of any problems that may arise through the general operation of the property. 
  • Communicates any guest service related issues to the rest of the resort in a timely fashion, as appropriate. 
  • Strives to improve service performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of emergency procedures and ensures all resort staff are trained in emergency response and that drills are held regularly. 
  • Ensures all people and property entering the resort have been reviewed and risk assessed. 
  • Manages lost and found program for the resort. 
  • Conducts investigation of all losses of property assets and refers to proper management for disposition.
  • Deploys security staff to effectively monitor and protect property assets. 
  • Conduct periodic patrols of entire property.
  • Handles complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
  •  Identifies and makes recommendations for minimizing physical hazards and unsafe work practices. 
  • Implements action plans to monitor and control risk. 
  • Maintains required reports and documentation regarding patrols of property and parking areas.
  • Provides means for obtaining necessary medical attention on a timely basis. 
  • Attends preand post-convention and weekly forecast meetings to understand group needs and gather critical information to communicate to Loss Prevention officers.
  • Celebrates successes by publicly recognizing the contributions of team members. 
  • Communicates the importance of safety procedures, detailing procedure codes, ensuring employee understanding of safety codes, monitoring processes and procedures related to safety. 
  • Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. 
  • Identifies the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Provides guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Provides personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as employee or guests. 
  • Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors. 
  • Solicits employee feedback, utilizes an "open door" policy and reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.
  • Strives to improve service performance, leading “service professional first, security officer second” mantra with Security team. 
  • Ensures Security staff compliance with all established policies and procedures.
  • Emphasizes guest satisfaction during daily shift briefings, as well as on the floor, and during departmental meetings. 
  • Leads the resort’s attempt to minimize lost time due to employee accidents.
  • Schedules Security staff as dictated by business levels. 
  • Participates as needed in the investigation of employee and guest accidents.
  • Ensures resort and company policies and procedures are administered fairly and consistently and that employees are held accountable accordingly. 
  • Leads department meetings and continually communicates a clear and consistent message regarding the Security department and resort goals to produce desired results.
  • Uses all available training tools for employees; supervises on-going training initiatives and conducting training when appropriate.
  • Communicates performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position.
  • Ensures that payroll is completed in a timely fashion.
  • Creates and updates departmental training manuals and P&Ps as needed and ensures staff are trained in a systematic fashion, keeping strong and accurate records regarding training, performance, and attendance. 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree.
  • Five or more years of progressive safety/security managerial experience in a resort or hotel. 
  • Excellent command on both English and Turkish.
  • Knowledge as well as abilities in other languages would be beneficial.
  • Have experience in a luxury lifestyle brand. 
  • International resort or hotel experienced is preferred. 
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable.
  • The incumbent should possess critical thinking skills, which help him/her to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. 
  • Participate and successfully complete training and educational programs made available to Six Senses Resorts & Spas Hosts.
