QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Being an international contractor with diversified interests and operations spread to 4 continents and 11 countries since 1989,Summa is looking for Airport Deputy General Manager employed at Airport Operation in Niger .

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Aviation Management, or related field
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years related experience and/or training with at least three (3) years related general aviation management experience.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced operational environment.
  • Knowledge of operational Corporate policies and procedures
  • Analytical thinking, goal-directed leadership, and service-oriented performance
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and motivate personnel.
  • Operational decision-making
  • Strong Interpersonal and Communicational skills, balanced with a high level of confidence to influence and present at all levels.
  • Bi-lingual ability preferred (French, English)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and web-based applications
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass airport security background check.


Responsibilities

  • Plans and directs the activities of a functional operating area at Diori Hamani International Airport (e.g., Airside/Landside Operations, Security and Administration)
  • Creates new opportunities by developing relationships with customers, tenants, the airport authority, local government, and the local community.
  • Reviews and evaluates the work performance of supervisory personnel, recommending disciplinary action when needed.
  • Coordinates and participates in human resources activities (e.g., interviewing, employee relations)
  • Reviews work summaries submitted by supervisory staff and generates comprehensive activity reports.
  • Establish a culture that promotes safety and quality control through daily observations, shift briefings, routine audits, monthly safety meetings, training, and documented safety procedures.
  • Formulate and abide by procedures for use in event of airport accidents, fires, or other emergencies.
  • Receive and use customer feedback to constantly develop and improve capabilities and processes.
  • Manage Operations, including ensuring proper staffing levels are maintained based on daily/weekly/monthly volumes.
  • Develop new business plans with capital requirements and anticipated performance.
  • Responsible for financial management of base including capital expenditures, forecasting, budgeting, audit performance and expense management.
  • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Perform leadership functions such as conducting annual reviews, making hiring decisions, and managing performance of direct reports, which includes mentoring, and skill development.
  • Ensure employees receive company communications and necessary training including safety, customer service standards, Company values, etc.
  • Ensure training and development of employees to improve work performance and maximize employee potential.
  • Develop and maintain good relations with the Airlines and local government authorities.
  • Develop and maintain good relations with the local community.
  • Develop and maintain good relations with tenants & customers.
  • Other responsibilities as requested or assigned.


    This position requires that the Assistant General Manager government ordinances and laws to ensure smooth operations. Assistant General Manager must also perform security and safety inspections. Assistant General Manager must also ensure that programs are comply with regulatory agencies. He/She must also make sure that the airport complies with the aviation regulations and procedures.He/She will promote a positive team environment to better serve our customers.
