QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Scope

  • Be familiar with preparation, ingredients and presentation of all drinks offered in menus.
  • Pour wine and beer in appropriate glassware.
  • Ensure the prompt and efficient service of all beverages set by the restaurant required standards.
  • Have knowledge of customers’ likes and dislikes pertaining to drinks throughout their stay.
  • Ensure all mis-en-place for cocktails and drinks are correctly prepared prior to service in restaurant.
  • Make every effort to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of customer’s beverage requests throughout service.
  • Ensure that you’re working bar areas is of exemplary clean nature.
  • Ensure guest / room charges at points of sales are being managed.
  • Ensure that you are aware and informed of all products the resort bars use for service including the bar machinery.
  • Have a good knowledge of the beverage list.
  • Recommend and promote bar items as directed by the Bar Manager.
  • Fill the forms that you assigned such as checklist, fridge temperature etc. 
  • Be polite and professional in any situation where the image or reputation of the restaurant is represented.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Tourism High School degree.
  • Minimum one year or more of experience in a similar role in a luxury hotel chain or restaurant.
  • Proficient in spoken English.
  • Knowledge of restaurant and bar procedures, set up and service standards.
  • Additional courses relating to further knowledge of wine, cocktails etc. are also preferred.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to multitask.
  • Cocktail-making, beverage service and garnishing.
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Excellent upselling skills.
  • Ability to work on sliding shift.

Associate Degree(Graduate), Bachelor’s(Graduate), Master’s(Graduate)
