About The Peninsula Istanbul


The Peninsula Istanbul will offer spectacular views of the Bosphorus Strait, the meeting point of East and West. Located in the historic Karaköy district, the hotel will feature 177 opulent guestrooms and a glamourous rooftop, forming part of the Salıpazarı Port re-development, which also features a cruise terminal, public squares, restaurants, and museums. As we continue to expand the pre-opening team, The Peninsula Istanbul is seeking to hire an Executive Pastry Chef to plan, direct, control, coordinate and participate in all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the Pastry and Bakery Kitchen, and for ensuring that the product quality meets the standards set consistently.

Key accountabilities


 
  • Promotes The Peninsula Istanbul to becoming a recognized culinary destination by creating memorable guest experiences through artistry and uncompromised passion for excellence.
  • Coordinates and directs all aspects of the Pastry & Bakery operation and collaborates with the Food and Beverage team and all necessary stakeholders to achieve marketing and business goals and objectives.
  • Works closely with other departments such as Sales & Marketing to conceptualize and implement dynamic marketing programs to drive marketing/PR activities for the pastry.
  • Maintains up to date technical worksheets, recipes and costings and ensures understanding and compliance from team members.
  • Controls the ordering and requisitions to achieve budgeted costs.
  • Ensures the hygiene and cleanliness of the kitchens and food storage areas and ensures the highest standard of food safety.

 

General requirements


 
  • Minimum of 4 years as Executive Pastry Chef position within luxury hotels or boutique pastry shops.
  • Extensive Pastry technical knowledge and current culinary trends.
  • High level of creativity.
  • Extensive experience in management of chefs.
  • Ability to maintain an extremely sanitary environment while working.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the team.
  • Fluent in English language proficiency.
