General Requirements:
  • B.Sc / M.Sc / Ph.D degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace or equivalent from a reputable university in Turkey or abroad
  • 3+ years direct experience in transmission development or automotive industry is an asset
  • Professional working knowledge of CATIA (or similar softwares) 3D design and 2D drawings
  • Demonstrated interest in product development and production
  • Fluency in English to support international work environment
  • Military service should be completed for male candidates
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Enthusiasm for learning and enhancing engineering skills
  • Strong ability to work in a highly utilized project management and product development environment
  • Living in or able to relocate to Istanbul
  • Experience on Data Acquisition will be considered as an asset
  • School Project participation on transmissions will be considered as an asset

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role:
  • Define required system/sub system requirements  and perform system concept and modeling
  • Perform the mechanical design and analysis of transmission and powertrain components and their sub-systems
  • Perform detail design of transmission including 2D-3D drawings and manufacturing tolerances.
  • Establish specifications for design, testing and validation of components
  • Support vehicle integration and functional development for transmission gear box
  • Support current and future engineering activities on cross-drive and in-line transmission technologies
  • Interaction with domestic and international suppliers and contractors 
  • Management of outsource test and development activities
  • Plan and execute required testing to demonstrate transmission system functionality and reliability(managing instrumentation, powertrain controls interface and test rigs)
  • Work with component engineers to develop transmission design to meet requirements
  • Take part for resolution of identified technical problems during qualification tests both on test rigs or on vehicle
Profile:
  • Preferably Masters degree in Engineering, BS in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace or equivalent
  • Must demonstrate a sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles
  • Knowledge and understanding of transmission, driveline components and their integration
  • Solid understanding of transmission technology particularly MT, AMT, AT, DCT, CVT, Clutches and hydraulic control
  • Strong knowledge on automotive technology
  • Strong numeric and literacy skills
  • Able to demonstrate a methodical approach to problem solving
  • A supportive team player
  • Experience with some of the following software packages:
    • CATIA V5
    • GT-Suite or AVL Cruise or similar programs
    • IMC Famos and Studio
    • PTC Windchill
