TÜMOSAN Research & Development positions are great opportunities for both junior and senior level engineers who will gain deep engineering knowledge and fully utilize their technical skills to have a challenging role within the Transmission Development Team. 

General Requirements: 

• B.Sc / M.Sc / Ph.D degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace or equivalent from a reputable university in Turkey or abroad 
• 3+ years direct experience in transmission development or automotive industry is an asset 
• Enthusiastic new graduate candidates are also well accepted 
• Professional working knowledge of CATIA (or similar softwares) and 3D design and 2D drawings is an asset. 
• Demonstrated experience designing rotating systems and related component selection (gears, shafts, clutches, bearings, seals, etc.) 
• Expertise in KISSsys/KISSsoft or any other gear design tools. 
• Demonstrated experience in FEA for structural durability or fatique   
• Demonstrated interest in product development and production 
• Fluency in English to support international work environment 
• No military service obligation for male candidates until 2021 
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills 
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills 
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills 
• Enthusiasm for learning and enhancing engineering skills 
• Strong ability to work in a highly utilized project management and product development environment 
• Living in or able to relocate to Istanbul 
• Experience on Data Acquisition will be considered as an asset 
• Experience on structural analysis softwares will be considered as an asset 
• School Project participation on transmissions will be considered as an asset 

Role: 

• Perform the definition of gear ratio, number of teeth and modulus for all gear sets considering specified vehicle weight and defined power train data like engine power, torque and speed, converter ratio characteristics, transmission ratios, number of speeds, etc. 
• Perform the concept design and analysis of transmission gear box and related components (gears, shafts, clutches, bearings, seals, etc.) 
• Perform the simulation of transmission gear box for the purpose of concept validation 
• Perform FEA studies for structural durability and fatique durability optimiazastion 
• Support vehicle integration and functional development for transmission gear box
• Support current and future engineering activities on cross-drive and in-line transmission technologies transmission technologies 
• Interaction with domestic and international suppliers and contractors 
• Management of outsource test and development activities 
• Work with component engineers to develop transmission design to meet requirements 
• Take part for resolution of identified technical problems during qualification tests both on test rigs or on vehicle 

Profile: 

• Preferably Masters degree in Engineering, BS in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace or equivalent 
• Must demonstrate a sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles 
•  Knowledge and understanding of transmission, driveline components and their integration 
• Solid understanding of transmission technology particularly MT, AMT, AT, DCT, CVT, Clutches and hydraulic control 
• Strong knowledge on automotive technology 
• Strong numeric and literacy skills 
• Able to demonstrate a methodical approach to problem solving 
• A supportive team player 
• Experience with some of the following software packages: 

     - KissSys / KissSoft or similar programs 

     - CATIA V5 

     - GT-Suite or AVL Cruise or similar programs 

     - IMC Famos and Studio 

     - Motionsolve 

     - Abaqus 

     - FEMFAT 

     - ANSYS 

     - Hyperworks
