QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

LOOKING FOR FULL TIME QA/QC CHİEF FOR OUR NEW PROJECT AT ISTANBUL FINANCE CENTER IN ATASEHIR, ISTANBUL


Position Description: Responsible for planning, coordinating and developing the project-specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Plan that incorporates the policies and procedures necessary to deliver the project fully compliant with the contract documents.

Reports To: Project Manager 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities* : 

  • Manage the development and implementation of the project-specific QA/QC Plan in coordination with the project team, the owner/architect team and the contract documents.
  • Maintain a collaborative working relationship with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors and vendors to ensure that the project-specific QA/QC Plan delivers a fully compliant project.
  • To review and comment on the QA / QC Plan specific to the Project to be submitted by the Subcontractor, to supervise its implementation by the Contractor.
  • Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements at all times.
  • Develop a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the contract documents (including Turner’s contract, plans, specifications and applicable codes).
  • Controlling the construction methods for each construction work to be implemented by the contractor and ensuring compliance with the Construction Manager,
  • Coordination of engineering procedures including QA / QC document control, management of presentations, tracking of information requests (RFI), tracking of material samples and documentation,
  • To manage meetings about the quality control follow-up / update regularly planned with the contractor QA/QC team,
  • To participate in all mock-up installation process, control and approval processes,
  • Review and follow-up of report templates created by the contractor and to be used by the quality control team,
  • Understand the project execution plan and coordinate QA/QC procedures at appropriate stages of the work, in line with the project schedule.
  • Open and monitor Nonconformity Reports (NCR) when required by the contractor's productions
  • Continually improve strategies and tools to efficiently and effectively document, track and record compliance with the contract documents.
  • Conduct testing and inspections and arrange for third-party testing and inspections. Analyze and report the results.
  • Direct removal and replacement of, and document all non-compliant materials and/or workmanship. Document compliance after corrective work is completed prior to starting any subsequent work.
  • Oversight of project close-out and quality reports.
  • Develop engineering procedures, including document control, submissions management, creation and tracking of Requests For Information (RFIs), material samples, documentation and tracking of potential cost changes, documentation and tracking of approved change orders within budgetary requirements.
  • Implement project-specific QA/QC Plan in coordination with the project safety plan.
  • Expand the development of the plan as the project progresses as appropriate to expand the project by continually improving procedures.
  • Research and apply additional QA/QC and Lean procedures to enhance the quality of project delivery.
  • Attend coordination meetings.
  • Oversight of project close-out and quality reports.
 * May perform other duties as necessary or assigned.


Qualifications: 

10 or more years’ experience as a Quality Assurance / Quality Control Chief role in the construction industry; high rise; commercial/residential tower experience preferred.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Quality Control or related field

Proven track record of meeting production and quality standards in fast-paced construction environments

Knowledge of the construction process, means an education, training and/or experience and construction experience that bridges both field methods, and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances. 

Experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.

Strong computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. 

Knowledge of Turner’s project management software and leadership skills. 

Very strong verbal and written communication skills are required. 

Proven leadership qualities and skills with the desire to teach and mentor staff.

Work Environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
