Job Responsibilities

• Maintains the trademark docket of approximately 10,000 UPS marks filed worldwide. This includes managing between 50-100 deadlines each month.
• Researches, analyzes, and drafts letters and other documentation regarding trademark infringements.
• Manages the internet domain portfolio process within the Corporate Legal Department and researches and analyzes internet infringements.
• Conducts preliminary trademark searches and assists with the preliminary analysis of such searches.
• Supports the Trademark Attorney in the prosecution and defense of Trademark Oppositions.
• Provides required information, internal UPS documents and support to outside counsel to assist outside counsel in accomplishing all trademark prosecution items on the trademark docket on a worldwide basis.
• Provides required information to outside counsel to assist outside counsel in dealing with infringements and opposition cases globally.
• Reviews invoices from outside counsel to ensure accuracy and to contain legal costs. Holds responsibility for ensuring the Trademark docket is up to date and all deadlines are met.
• Holds responsibility for ensuring Trade Mark License Agreements (TMLA) are properly executed and scanned into the TMLA data base.
• Holds responsibility for ensuring the infringement data base is up to date and monitored.
• Participates in special projects to support the Corporate Legal Department as needed.
• Reviews trademark issues as the representative of the UPS Rate and Service Guide and Tariff Terms and Conditions Committee for bi-annual changes.
• Acts on requests for domain name issues and serves as the principal liaison with IT Mahwah and others in the UPS organization for domain name requests and other domain name issues, including infringements

Job Requirements

• Possesses a minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Lawyer or any relevant discipline.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Professional Law Principles
• Possesses excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Able to demonstrate skills in MS Office Programs (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint).
• Confident, customer-oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Team management with excellent interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of stakeholders.
• Solid understanding and knowledge on local laws and regulations.
