We are looking for a Ships Agency Operator who will join our Ships Agency division.

In Ships Agency, we provide our customers with piece of mind while we handle their cargo, their vessels and their crew. We handle 75,000 port calls per year, which means that every 7 minutes, anywhere around the world, we send a ship safely out to sea again to fulfil its purpose. We match local expertise with strict global standards, making sure we consistently make our customers’ port calls as efficient and safe as possible.

About the location / department

The position will be located at Icerenkoy which is in the heart of Istanbul and easy to get to by public transportation

The Ships Agency Operator will report to Ships Agency Operations Supervisor.

Who You Are

Ideally you are an experienced Ships Agent, preferably you already have a solid understanding of the Shipping Industry and familiar with port regulations and procedure, but if not, we will consider those with the right attitude and desire. You will need to possess a strong Health and Safety focus with a desire to get the job done, and get it done right. The ability to work independently is critical, however always remembering you are a part of a team working to be successful together. The ability to work under pressure, to be a problem solver, and a solution provider are important traits to be successful in the role. Reliability, trustworthiness, multitasking, thoroughness, and determination are all characteristics that you also need to possess.

Required Experience And Skills

• Min. 3 year experience in Ships Agency Operations included full agency/husbandry/OPA/transit agency services
• Familiar with Local Port Authority regulations, procedures and governing tariffs
• Good communication skills and command of the English language (oral and written)
• Ability to multitask and organize under pressure without compromising safety of personnel and vessel
• Problem solving skills with ability to make fast and sound judgement.
• Good cost awareness and control
• Process and system understanding
• Computer literate
  

What You Will Be Doing

Attending all vessels’ requests within the scope of responsibility, in compliance with applicable work processes, standards and procedures, with special attention to correct, accurate and timely use of the operating system
