Our Corporate Purchasing department is currently looking for a motivated –COMMODITY BUYER – METALS (NON-SHEET) AND STAINLESS STEEL to cover a maternity leave (10 months)

Job mission and objectives

Reporting to the Global Category Manager, this person will support the Category management team in the development of strategic purchasing activities and drive the execution of key initiatives in different commodities of the metals and stainless steel spend category (i.e. sourcing and scouting, raw material pricing analysis, strategy definition, solutions optimization, supplier management, risk mitigation).

Key responsibilities will include

Strategic purchasing :

• Contribute to the Category Strategy development

• Manage key suppliers

• Identify new interesting LCC countries to explore

• Identify new potential suppliers for the assigned commodities

• Negotiate contracts

• Identify and execute saving initiatives

• Support internal departments (Quality, Logistics and Technology) on Purchasing-related topics

• Manage relationship with local Purchasing teams

Operational purchasing :

• Contract execution

• Corporate templates creation + maintenance

• Support PPAP + sampling

• Data Analysis

• RFQ / tenders

• Sourcing Plan compilation

Experience & Skills

• University degree (Bachelor/Master) or equivalent, preferably Mechanical engineering

• At least 3 years in the strategic sourcing in international worldwide companies

• Category / Commodity management experience (pref. metals)

• International negotiations, with forex competences

• Knowledge of metalworking processes

• Ability to manage change initiatives in a proactive way

• Experience in managing international projects

• Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills

• Collaborative team player and inspirational Ieader

• Target oriented approach

• Available to business trips at global level

• Fluent in English

Preferred locations for this position is Wittur plant in Istanbul (Turkey).
