Project: Improving Co-operation between the NGOs and Public Sector
Summary:
The project is a technical assistance project, funded by the EC, in which the beneficiary is the EUSG. The contract is managed by the British Council and the contracting authority is the CFCU.
The goal of the project is to improve the environment for NGO and Government cooperation. The main components within the project will be:
I.
The development of a code of conduct to govern NGO/government relations;
II.
Training of NGO and government members especially at the local level;
III.
Management of grant projects and training of grantees;
IV.
Development of a project consultation website and associated database.
There are 4 other permanent members of the team: The Team Leader and his Deputy, the Training Specialist (English speaking and new to Turkey), the Grants Specialist and the Networking & Communications Specialist (Both Turkish).
The project will require extensive liaison with a range of institutional stakeholders (EUSG, CFCU, ECD, Department of Associations etc) and with individual NGOs, their members and members of local government.
The project will end in December 2006 and the office is within the EUSG Office, 10 km from Ankara Centre.
Two assistants are required to support the Project Team.
