QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently looking for a Transport Supervisor to join our
Customer Services and Distribution Team in Gebze, who will mainly be responsible for ensuring the whole transportation network of Nestle throughout Turkey runs smoothly including delivery to customer, regional deliveries, factory and DC deliveries and deliveries of co-packers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree from relevant Engineering fields
- At least 5 years experience; successful operational experience at market/business level in transportation, good relations with transportation companies, having established key relationship with logistic companies
- Relevant operational experience at market/business level in Customer Service,Sales,Warehouse Management,Finance(budgeting,costing,controlling) and other logistic companies is a plus
- Experience in management of projects such as Distribution Network Redesign,High Performance Logistics,Customer Logistics,Distribution Costing and Finance
- Team leading and decision making skills
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Control that the third party services for the transport operation is on the required level with the under controlled costing
- Ensure that transportation service is in line with Nestlé quality, safety standards, guidelines and best practices
- Set the transportation strategy and decide on how to manage of various third party service providers
- Agree on service requirements with Businesses and Finance and establish the targets
- Set targets for transport service and cost and continuously keep track on KPIs close to the target values by: (1) putting in place a structured continuous improvement approach based on the application of and (2) implementing, monitoring and managing Safety, Health and Environment, Quality and CARE regulations and Best Practices
- Drive cost saving initiatives to improve the performance and costs in transportation; solve any transport issue adequately; ensure that legal obligations are met or exceeded (transport regulations) and documentation for deliveries is returned completed on time; and schedule Inbound and Outbound flows and measure attainment
- Influence Distribution Management and Customer Service in order to continuously improve service and cost through regular communication e.g. delivery in right quantity, at right place/ window and information that will keep customers and CS updated to manage proactively collaborating with Customers and other functional departments (customer service, warehouse, factories) to ensure an adequate level of flexibility of structures and processes: (1) to meet ad-hoc customer requirements or to deal with unexpected; Supply Chain disruptions; (2) to adapt to changes in the logistics and / or market environment
- Organize tenders and select the most suitable transport companies
- Negotiate contracts with Procurement processes and establish a sound relationship with the service providers including robust conflict management
- Support the selection of the right people, constant engagement, motivation, management and close working of the team
