Job Description

The Role
Following the establishment of a Global Center of Excellence for Performance Management, we are looking for a Performance Management Lead in the EMEA region, responsible for the Carbohydrate solution sites.
The Performance Management Lead should be the subject matter expert of all financial aspects of plant and regional operations including operating costs and capital expenditures, taking a leadership role in improving the plant’s and region’s cost position and operations reporting. This role is reporting to the Global Performance Manager within the Performance Management CoE – Carbsol Global Operations and will have a dotted line to the Finance Director, Sweeteners and Starches EMEA.
This position can be based at our locations in Adana, Turkey or Razgrad, Bulgaria.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Plant safety leadership
    • Promote a positive safety attitude in all interactions
    • Engage with plant safety programs such as VBS, job cycle checks, safety committees, safety blitzes, and safety audits
  • Understand fundamentals of plant operations
    • Understand purpose of each plant unit operation as well as its financial impact
    • Understand high level operating KPIs such as Operational Efficiency, yield, energy/chemical utilization, and first pass prime
    • Understand plant energy and utility balance; understand high level philosophy of optimizing plant energy balance
  • Understand fundamentals of plant fixed cost position
    • Aid in tracking plant maintenance costs against goals and benchmarks
    • Ensure proper maintenance cost tracking through training and auditing of work order processes
  • Coordinate month end close including inventory, load, and usage reconciliation
    • Engage with accounting and plant on streamlining month end close procedures to aid in accuracy and timeliness of results
  • Lead plant cost analysis efforts
    • Analyze performance gaps and highlight areas of opportunity through statistical analysis
    • Work with accounting to explain cost anomalies
    • Implement cost tracking and improvement tools in the plants
    • Promote accountability of financial and operational KPIs amongst plant/regional leadership via coaching and follow-up
    • Hold routine financial reviews with all levels of plant leadership that highlight performance gaps and areas of opportunity
    • Take part in AFE preparation and lookbacks to understand financial justification of capital expenditures
  • Prepare annual financial plan for corn/wheat milling operations
    • Engage with plant and corporate personnel on setting benchmarks for operating cost and capital expenditure
    • Aid in developing and implementing Carbohydrates’ capital strategy
  •  Communicate to FP&A in Carbohydrate Solutions on operating performance, savings initiatives, and capital strategy of corn/wheat milling plants
  • Take leadership role in Performance Excellence initiatives, such as Zero Loss
  • General Administration , Capex, depreciation.
  • Take leadership role in corporate Operations initiatives such as OEE and Performance Management tool
 
Your Profile
The successful candidate will possess the following:
  • A mix of technical and financial capabilities via experience, where both are not present, a desire to grow in either of these areas
  • University degree in either engineering or finance
  • Minimum of 3- 5 years of relevant job experience
  • Fluent in and English, verbal as well as in written communication. Additional languages are a plus
  • SAP, BW, Power BI and Microsoft tools
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Collaboration (good team player, cultural sensitivity, virtual teams)
  • Able to influence stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel – 10-25% travel expected
