Maintenance Mechanic/Machine rebuilder

I. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Experienced machine rebuild/refurbish mechanic to help lead and supervise Repair and Maintenance technical staff in the rebuild and refurbish of used equipment and equipment from the factory floor. 

 II. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: • Repair and rebuild metal forming presses, cold forming heading machines, metal turning and trimming machines, conveyors, electrical systems, CNC machinery, pneumatic tools and hydraulic equipment. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion • Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing metrics. • Source replacement parts and perform repairs. • Work with Repair and Maintenance manager to continually update the production equipment. • Attend daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime. • Safely operate fork trucks, power tools, hoists and hand tools. • Assess the condition of used parts using micrometers, calipers and specifications. • Maintain electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical knowledge via on-going training, industry workshops and technical reading. • Moves machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks. • Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails, using hand tools and power tools. • Aligns machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers, and plumb bobs. • Assembles machinery and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools. • May operate engine lathe or milling machine to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications. 

III. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE: • Minimum of 3 years industrial maintenance or machine rebuilding experience required • Advanced understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanics • Basic understanding of electrical systems and CNC equipment • Capable of operating hand, power and specialized tools • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. • Team player and willing to work with minimal supervision • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills • High school diploma • Use logical step-by-step procedures in work. • Make decisions based on measurable information. • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment/can work under tight schedule • Ability to mentor and teach others
