UG Shift Production Engineer

Responsibilities:

Reporting and Leadership:

• Report to the lead of the production team and provide supervision, leadership, and direction to the underground mining team to ensure quality work practices and production targets are achieved safely.

Shift Coordination:

• Coordinate and supervise shift operations to meet productivity targets and quality standards.
• Manage and resolve any operational issues or conflicts that may arise during the assigned shift.
• Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to ensure employees are informed about safety and production objectives.
• Collaborate with other shift engineers to ensure accurate handovers between shifts.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure ground support activities comply with the Ground Control Management Plan established by the underground geotechnical department.
• Identify and mitigate hazards and risks, including air contaminants such as dust and gases.

Production Management:

• Participate in stope reconciliations to improve drill and blast methods.
• Work closely with support departments to deliver the weekly mine plan safely and efficiently.
• Monitor and maintain accurate production records and employee files, including time sheets and safety reports.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Perform any other duties as required by the company.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related work experience, with the ability to operate production equipment considered an advantage.

Thorough understanding of mining legislation and knowledge of underground sublevel stoping methods and operating practices.

Skills: Computer literacy with the ability to use integrated management systems.

Additional: Completion of military duty preferred.

B Class Driver's License required.
