MEP Manager

AYCOMA is seeking an experienced MEP Manager teammate to join our Project Management Consultancy Company and support us remotely (100%) in our Large Scale Superstructure Project located in Germany.

Position Description

The Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) Manager role is responsible for the coordination of the HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Fire Protection Systems. The MEP Manager is expected to exercise judgment and discretion in making recommendations, implementing policies and procedures, and handling a wide variety of matters in the field, which includes taking an active role in the commissioning process and approach.

Position Qualifications

·         7-15 years total experience, min 2-3 years as a MEP Manager.

·         Experience in International Large Scale Superstructure Projects

·         Degree in engineering, or equivalent MEP discipline experience

·         Technical background in electrical/mechanical trades.

·         Effective English verbal and written communication skills (Advance English to be actively used in international Projects).

·         Ability to identify, address, and solve jobsite issues.

·         Working knowledge of facilities operations and building systems (shopping mall is a plus).

·         Ability to work collaboratively in a remote work & International Project Environment.

·         Software proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, Primavera P6 (Excel, Project, Word, Teams).

Essential Duties

Scheduling

·         Advise on developing sequences of installation for mechanical and electrical components.

·         Recommend and establish milestones for completion of various systems to allow sufficient time for pre-testing and testing.

·         Advise on establishing a testing schedule for each subcontractor’s components leading up to coordinated testing of systems involving several contractors.

·         Consult on establishing shop drawing and submittal schedules and see to their maintenance and follow-up. Help identify long-lead items and see to their inclusion in the Master Project Schedule, including all updates.

·         Advise on establishing job close-out schedules and implement specific procedures for close-out including submittals of as-builts, O&M manuals, and Owner’s training.

Shop Drawings and Submittals

·         Review for compliance with contract documents.

·         Review for proper scope coordination among all trades and ensure that appropriate submittals are communicated among trade partners where necessary.

·         Review for adequate space coordination among trades such as duct and piping layouts, beam penetration requirements, headroom clearances, etc.

Other Responsibilities

·         Participate in weekly team and trade partner meetings, as necessary.

·         Arrange special meetings when necessary to coordinate subcontractors’ shop drawings, address design issues with subcontractors and consultants, etc.

·         Monitor on-site work to ensure compliance with contract requirements and schedule.

·         Inspect equipment, materials, and fabrications stored off-site as necessary.

·         Identify the work of other trades that require coordination with mechanical and electrical work such as drywall, elevators, finish hardware, etc.
