Dispersions & Resins Europe is a regional business unit that develops and produces dispersions, resins and additives which are used for the formulation of adhesives, architectural coatings, fiber bonding, construction chemicals, paper coatings, automotive and industrial coatings, furniture and floor coatings as well as printing inks and packaging coatings.

We are looking for a Head of Dispersion Laboratory and Technical Service Representative who will be responsible for our products and solutions in dispersions for architectural coatings and construction.

Roles & Responsibilities

•        Lead the application laboratory within the BASF Innovation Center in Istanbul
•        Act as main customer contact for technical issues, provide technical support for sales in water based decorative paints and construction chemicals in Turkey, Middle East and Africa
•        Manage joint technical projects with customers
•        Literature preparation for technical marketing and preparation of technical articles for the media
•        Develop lasting customer relationships to identify business trends in and beyond the customer scope or respective portfolio
•        Utilize product application knowledge as well as thorough knowledge of entire customer and market value chain to anticipate market trends; encourage thinking "out of the box" to stimulate innovation. Evaluate marketability of creative ideas and act to make full use of it
•        Continuously increase market intelligence and update customer and competitor data
•        Participate and contribute to internal and customer seminars and trainings
•        Active participation in forums, e.g. fairs, summits that support BASF strategies while positioning BASF as a company and its products, aiming for concrete customer actions

Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required

•        University degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry – Master’s degree is an asset
•        Fluent in English
•        Holds a driving license
•        Minimum 5 years of experience in R&D laboratories, preferably in multi-national coatings and construction chemicals companies
•        Profound knowledge and technical background in decorative coatings and construction chemicals
•        Experienced in laboratory management and usage of laboratory equipment
•        Good level of knowledge on SAP and MS Office applications
•        Able to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
•        Able to deliver presentations at customer sites, seminars and conferences
