QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

UKTI Marketing and GREAT Campaign Manager (Ref. TUR206)
The British Consulate General Istanbul is seeking a Marketing and GREAT Campaign Manager based in Istanbul. The position requires working as part of the cross-Turkey UK Trade and Investment team.  The successful applicant must be available to take up the position quickly.
 
The main purpose of this job is to develop, implement and deliver a marketing and public relations strategy to market opportunities in Turkey for UK exporters and to highlight the UK as a destination of choice for Turkish investors; and, to manage and oversee the successful delivery of the GREAT Campaign in Turkey.  The successful applicant will work as part of a team to meet challenging individual and overall targets for bilateral business development.  The post will be line managed by the Deputy Consul General in Istanbul.
 
Required Experience & Skills
The ideal candidate should have:
  • A university or equivalent degree;
  • Knowledge of the UK and Turkey business environment;
  • Strong communication skills with excellent spoken and written Turkish and English (essential);
  • Relevant marketing and presentation skills and experience (preferably with relevant qualifications);
  • Project management and events management experience (preferably with relevant qualifications; eg, Prince 2 or similar) to support service delivery across teams and departments;
  • 3+ year’s experience as a Project/Programme Manager in a large global organisation or direct experience of running aspects of a global marketing campaign;
  • A strong understanding of customer service and have experience in dealing with VIP customers, senior officials and customers;
  • Able to manage own work with minimal supervision and work effectively under tight deadlines;
  • Excellent financial knowledge and rigour;
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications, in particular Word, PowerPoint and Excel (essential)
·         Excellent team and people skills, and be comfortable engaging with people of all levels of seniority and (potentially) handling sensitive relationships;
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and good follow-up discipline.

İŞ TANIMI

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Working with UKTI teams in Turkey and the UK, to develop and implement a strategy to market the opportunities in Turkey to UK exporters and the UK as the destination of choice for Turkish investors.
 
  • To effectively and proactively develop constructive internal and external networks and relationships, including with: Turkish media, event organisers and multipliers; British local and central Government, the British Chamber of Commerce (BCCT), and UK and Turkish business/trade associations.
 
  • To devise, develop and maintain a suite of traditional and digital marketing publicity tools designed to build clear and strong perceptions of both the UK and Turkey as business destinations: this will include, but not limited to:
 
  • Using digital channels, social media and other innovative ways to communicate and engage UKTI Turkey with existing and potential clients; video and audio material for web and mobile content;
 
  • Co-ordinating and producing regular e-bulletins covering the activity of the UKTI Turkey team;
 
  • Ensuring that UKTI Turkey’s English web pages are relevant, accurate, user friendly, and market UKTI services in the most effective manner.
 
  • To assist with and provide quality assurance to UKTI Turkey colleagues on the marketing and branding of UKTI events and articles.
 
  • To be UKTI Turkey’s lead officer for the Media and Marketing sectors and advising UK companies on strategies for entering and succeeding in the Turkish market. 
 
  • To oversee planning, delivery and reporting of GREAT Campaign activities in Turkey.  Engage with teams in market, marketing hubs and HQ to ensure activities align with business opportunities, deliver quality and value for money, comply with policy, and contribute towards commercial outcomes.  
 
  • To engage with colleagues in the Prosperity and UKTI Turkey network and in London to ensure effective leadership and support for the GREAT Campaign.  Ensure governance structures support delivery.  Work closely with colleagues in British Council, VisitBritain and BCCT to identify areas for collaboration.  Advise on internal communications to ensure HMG-wide joined-up approach. 
 
  • To manage the relationship with external suppliers for the GREAT Campaign in Turkey; working together with centrally procured agencies to procure local agencies that deliver quality and value for money.  Engage companies and celebrities for sponsorship and wider campaign support.
 
  • To manage the UKTI Turkey Marketing and Turkey GREAT Campaign budgets including the collation and provision of rolling monthly budget accrual and forecast figures. For GREAT, to provide and validate monthly ROI metrics (Business Wins, Inward Investment Leads & Service Deliveries).
 
Terms and Conditions
This is a permanent full-time contract for 5 working days (36.25 hours net) per week.
The successful candidate will be subject to a professional background check and security clearance.
The annual salary for this position is 84.713 TL gross, B3 level. Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by local law.
Staff recruited locally by the British Consulate General in Istanbul are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Turkish employment law.
