QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Requirements

  • The successful candidate is expected to be educated to university level in Business Administration or Insurance, having at least 3 years experience in a similar role;
  • Have detailed knowledge of Marine Cargo, Liability, Property, Employers' Liability, FFL/transport insurance covers, and claims;
  • Claim management and marine/port/logistic insurance experience will be an asset;
  • Have detailed knowledge of logistics, ports, containers, and vessel lines processes for analysing claims;
  • Fluent in English and Turkish both written and spoken;
  • Excellent communications skills, written and verbal;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Preferably, experienced in the use of CRM and ERP systems;
  • Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.

Job Description

  • Providing timely service, which ensures a prompt and fair settlement of claims and Interpreting insurance policies and contracts, establishing, and adjusting reserves in accordance with company policies and guidelines;
  • Developing plans for investigation of claims and gathering all necessary documents and information;
  • Evaluating each claim assigned and conduct investigations where necessary;
  • Maintain proper files for claims by collecting and organising all relevant documents and setting up new claims;
  • Communicating with adjusters, claimants, the insured, and other relevant parties to determine liability and coverage;
  • Coordinating with the Global Insurance Team abroad and with  local Finance teams;
  • Taking necessary actions to improve the in-house insurance & claims processes, to optimise insurance costs and potential impacts of insurable risks, revised according to changing conditions;
  • Working in close contact with Operations, Commercial, and Finance Departments about claims, and policy premiums;
  • Guiding other departments in terms of insurable risks, insurance products, and terms;
  • Being able to make process analysis, and carry out the processes of accessing and sharing information;
  • Being able to create the collateral structure of local insurance (Employer Liability, Motor Insurance, Compulsory Traffic Insurance, Health, Construction All Risk, etc.) and conclude by following the offer, approval, and damage process;
  • Issuing necessary reports during the policy period and renewal periods, comparing alternatives during renewal periods and managing the insurer selection process;
  • Being able to take part in the decision mechanism regarding insurance transactions and give an opinion to the manager;
  • Following up the policies carried out globally within DP World, ensuring coordination between related companies, communicating with brokers and insurance companies;
  • Being able to comment on insurance clauses in contracts to which the company is a party
