Purchasing Engineer (m/f/d)

At Framo Morat Türkiye - the Turkish division of the German Franz Morat Group - we are always looking for ways to improve our products and processes. We are currently seeking a Purchasing Engineer to work with us in the drive technology area, joining our international team at our Izmir offices. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, with experience in supply chain management, or procurement. He or she will be responsible for identifying new local suppliers, and procuring the components needed to produce our products. The Purchasing Engineer will also be responsible for negotiating contracts and managing relationships with suppliers.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Strategic purchasing of technical purchased parts for the area of drive technology, including the associated price and condition negotiations
• Take the lead for the development of the Sourcing Department
• Build up and maintain long-standing supplier relationships
• Qualify new suppliers according to ISO 9001 in collaboration with Headquarters
• Active supplier and risk management to ensure quality, prices and quality, prices and delivery performance
• Complaints management in collaboration with Headquarters
• Developing new sources of supply locally
• Development and implementation of cost-saving programs
• Central point of contact for internal specialist departments
• Manage Import and Export operations
• Manage and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, or Mechanical, or Mechatronic, or Industrial Engineering, or Commercial background
• 1-3+ years’ experience in procurement, sales, purchasing, planning or similar role
• English Intermediate Level
• Proven knowledge of Quality Management Systems
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
• Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
• Ability to work independently and with international teams

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Familiarity with import and export processes
• Experience working with suppliers and vendors
