The objective of this position is to manage the R&D Station Operation team in Turkey and to coordinate and participate in evaluation of Hazera R&D projects. The R&D Station Operation Manager will have the responsibility to execute a multi-crop (tomato, cucumber, melon, watermelon, cabbage) R&D field trial program in our research station in Aksu, Antalya (Turkey) and with external growers in other regions of Turkey (Alanya, Adana, Izmir mainly) in the most efficient, professional and safety manners. For this position, Hazera Seeds is seeking an enthusiastic, results oriented, and highly committed individual. You will be a member of the Global R&D Operations Team and will report to the Global Trialing Leader. You will have close interaction with colleagues across Hazera’s R&D organization and in Product Development, Sales and Seed Production. You will be based in our research station in Aksu, Antalya (Turkey) and be part of HazeraTohumculuk Team.

ROLES & RESPONSIBLES

·       Set the Mid-term plan for R&D breeding trials development according to breeding projects requirements, company vision and budget

·       Liaise with breeding teams on field trial needs and develop a yearly field trial operational plan and prepare budget accordingly

·       Actively manage all components of the R&D field trials plan

·       ManageR&D Station Operation team in Turkey

·       Deliver field trial success and quality data, monitor and report on progress to stakeholders

·       Deliver seed production projects with high quality standards on agreed quantities and timing.

·       Support breeding team inevaluation of trials, plant selection and transfer, and/or seed cycle activities.

·       Execute breeder trial plan following up protocol and Hazera R&D Operation working procedures

·       Report periodically for season progress, flag issues and recommend resolution plans

·       Implement high phytosanitary performance according to company and country regulations

·       Interact with nurseries, growers, seed dealers and laboratories.

·       Assuring safe work conditions andhigh-quality execution

Profile:

·       Agricultural engineer with at least 5 years’ experience in R&D station Management with indoor and/or open field production

·       >5yrs Project management experience or direct people

·       Agronomical background/experience or field vegetable crop research.

·       Proven experience in field trialing, including trial setup and field evaluations.

·       Knowledge of plant breeding.

·       Expertise in MS Office and data analysis.

·       Ability and willingness to travel domestically frequently and occasionally internationally

·       Ability and willingness to work under variable environmental conditions associated with field trial work.

·       Proficient in English (Advanced Speaking, Reading, and Writing).

·       Driver license.
