System Administration Senior Specialist (Remote)

Koç University Information Technology Directorate will be hiring a System Administration Senior Specialist (Remote) mainly responsible for all Koç University IT services with the below-mentioned qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field
• Minimum 10 years of System Administration or related experience is a must
• Proficient in Linux (Debian and Redhat derivatives) and Windows Servers
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Proficient in Linux (Debian and Redhat derivatives) and Windows Servers
• Familiarity with Load balancer systems (F5, Nginx Enterprise, etc.)
• Excellent oral and written skills in English
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and estimating skills
• Competent in teamwork and time management.
• An equivalent combination of training and experience indicating possession of the prior knowledge, skills, and abilities may substitute for this education and experience.

Who are we looking for?

• Solid knowledge of developing Helm Charts and Dockerfile.
• Experience with containers, orchestrators such as Docker, Kubernetes or serverless.
• Solid knowledge of handling CI/CD technologies such as e.g. TeamCity, Octopus, Spinnaker or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with automating cloud native technologies, automating application deployment to Linux & Windows servers, Kubernetes and provisioning infrastructure.
• Knowing how to own the path to production using Continuous Delivery / Continuous Integration.
• Loving APIs, Service Meshes, Distributed Systems, Traceability, Observability and the right Metrics.
• Experience on one of the well known Public Cloud providers, like AWS, Azure, Google, IBM.
• You keep an open mind and love to stay up to date on latest technologies.

Awesome extras:

• Having Vmware vSphere setup and administration experience
• Having Vmware Tanzu experience or familarity
• Having successfully setup a regulated multi tenancy environment, including path to production, observability and metrics.
• Having a good sense for the right security measures throughout the full product life cycle.
• Having experience providing a seamless experience for engineers in a multi- and hybrid cloud environment.
• Automating and reducing waste wherever it makes sense by using Ansible, bash/PowerShell scripting or similar tools.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Developing Helm Charts and Dockerfile
• Designing and admistrating CI/CD pipelines by using Teamcity, Octopus or other tools
• Deploying custom applications developed by development teams to different environments as needed
• Supporting and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes (EKS), Linux Docker hosts
• Maintaining backup and restore operations of AWS, Kubernetes and applications run on Kubernetes using enterprise-level tools and techniques
