We are currently seeking a Controls and Automation Engineer to join our company, which specializes in the production of Laser Marking, 2D CNC and Robotic Laser Cutting, Robotic Laser Welding and Robotic Laser Cleaning systems.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Designing, developing, and implementing software/hardware improvements to existing automated equipment and new equipment according to projects.
• The overall requirements for the project will be identified, and the offline preparation of the PLC software will be conducted.
• Learn and understand existing SW architecture and be able to mentor junior engineers.
• Develop test criteria and test the system for efficiency, safety, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for failures and implement solutions.
• Ability to work in a safe manner and ensure safety of others.
• Ability to configure process control systems and troubleshoot computer system software.
• Occasional global travel to customer sites to support installations.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechatronics engineering or related field
• Experience with communication network protocols (EtherCAT, ProfiNet, Ethernet IP etc.)
• Experience with PLC programming standards & programming software. Specific experience with Beckhoff and Siemens is a plus.
• Experience with high-speed automation including continuous motion machines and six axis robots. (Kuka is a plus)
• Knowledge in implementation of PLC's with safety programs are an advantage.
• Experience with Keyence and Cognex Visions systems or equivalent
• Experience working with mechanical and electrical material handling equipment drawings and schematics.
• Experience with structured text type programming.
• Experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of industry standards, protocols, and best practices related to controls automation engineering.
• Strong detail orientation
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork.
