Chief Engineer

Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering,

-Minimum 5 years of working experience,

-3+ years of solar projects or renewable energy projects experience, including solar projects over 20 MW,

-Good knowledge of Electrical Codes and renewable energy system regulatory codes,

-Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVSYST, PVSOL ETAP  and other common electrical analysis program,

-Experience in electrical/electronic concepts such as Ohm’s Law, resistive losses, material , properties,

-Coordinate installation of construction sites processes,

-Good knowledge of power conversion equipment such as inverters and transformers,

-Ability to have an efficient communication with subcontracted laborers and technicians,

-Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills,

-Ability of leading the team during technical support operations,

-Excellent command of spoken and written English,

-Availability to travel to project sites in different locations whenever it is necessary,

-Advanced knowledge in MS Office (Project, Word, Excel etc.),

 Job Description:

-Lead the team and report to upper management,

-Manage the team, build structure and strategy according to projects’ needs,

-Carry out the utility scale photovoltaic (PV) solar electrical design,

-Produce preliminary engineering documents and related materials for estimating purposes,

-Create project drawings including site plans, system layout, single lines, cable management, and equipment installation details,

-Create and distribute RFPs to potential vendors, suppliers and subcontractors, establish evaluation metrics,

-Stay apprised of technology advancements, pricing, and market trends, and interface with solar module, inverter, and other OEM’s to obtain technical information and 

-Perform calculations for losses, conductor sizing, equipment rating, fusing and protection consistent with NEC, ANSI, IEC and UL,

-Have a good comunication with various equipment vendors, contractors, and third-party engineering firms,

-Prepare and/or review of design drawings and calculations for Solar Energy,

-Handle project preparetion, implementation and getting required acceptences from competent authorities,

-Conduct site visit and assessments to support preliminary design and site selection efforts, including constructability reviews,

-Review and comment vendor drawings and shop drawings,   

-Track project costs, create project budget based upon quotes and bids;

-Prepare bid packages and support procurement electrical materials and services as needed,

-Support preparation of project budget based upon quotes and bids; track project costs,

-Identify the sources of likely problems and proactively take preventive measures to avoid any potential project, and determine response actions to mitigate any negative impact,

-Conduct site visit and assessments to support preliminary design and site selection efforts, including constructability reviews,
