Allied Land Command (LANDCOM) HQ is the Theatre Land Component and Land Advocate responsible for coordinating and synchronizing NATO and Partner Land Forces by enabling land domain readiness, interoperability, standardization, and competency; on order deploys headquarters elements to provide planning, coordination, and command capabilities to Allied forces.
The Support Directorate is responsible for providing LANDCOM with organizational structures, personnel, logistics, communications and information systems and base support.
The Base Support Group provides LANDCOM with transportation, infrastructure maintenance, air travel support, Morale and Welfare activities, printing, supply and property control and coordinates with the Host Nation the provision of security and safety.
Essential Qualifications
- Having Technical High School Diploma.
- At least 3 years of related work experience on firefighting and prevention systems.
- Having full knowledge of international firefighting and prevention standards.
- Having a good knowledge of fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems and being able to work with these systems.
- Having knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
- English - NATO Standard Language proficiency LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) -2222 (For more information search on NATO STANAG 6001).
Desirable Qualifications
- Having experience in working at a military environment.
- Having Firefighter Certificate.
NOTE: The work both oral and written in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole is conducted mainly in English.
Job Description
1-Upon direction of emergency coordinator he/she will be responsible to maintain and operate firefighting and emergency rescue equipment and items,
2- He/she will make sure all relevant equipment and items are in good and operational conditions at all times.
3- He/she will be responsible to inspect, operate and maintain: *Firefighting cabinets and hoses *Firefighting nozzles, valves, hydrants, chemicals *Firefighting pumps, *Firefighting generators, *Water depots, *Firefighting uniforms, helmets, boats and gloves, *Hoses, nozzles, chemicals, hydrants etc.
4-Directs daily, weekly, monthly and yearly maintenance program on fire detection, prevention and fighting equipment and takes necessary actions.
5-He will attend relevant training program planned by his supervisors,
6-He will be responsible to set-off fire by using appropriate equipment,
7-He will be responsible to contact with Municipality Firefighting Department during emergency cases,
8-He/she will be responsible to operate chemical type fire extinguishing systems,
9-He/she will be responsible to operate FM200 type fire extinguishing systems, Natural gas collectors,
10-He/she will be responsible to operate CO2 type fire extinguishing systems,
11-He/she will be responsible to operate Fire detection systems
12-He/she will be responsible to plan and perform Fire Drills regularly,
13-He/she will be responsible to operate Diesel pumps,
14-He/she will be responsible to Refill of fire extinguishing systems/cylinders,
15-He/she will be responsible to select type of Firefighting dresses,
16-He/she will be responsible of inspecting of firefighting systems and cylinders,
17-He/she will be responsible to inspect electrical appliances,
18-He/she will be responsible to inspect firefighting water depots,
19-Reporting and report writing daily, weekly, monthly and yearly maintenance programs, (Automation, electro mechanical, fire detection system, etc.)
20-Accompanies and escorts the contractors (Honeywell/Siemens/Dunham Bush/Kidde/ Grundfoss etc.) during maintenance or repair process,
21-Controls and operates Fire Detection/Fighting systems,
22-Adjusts and controls the central clock systems,
23-Keeps the public addresses and announcement system in working condition,
24-Advises on the replacement of or the purchase of new equipment or installations,
25-Reports any failure or defects to his supervisor and makes sure works carried out by contractors are in compliance with NATO and HN standards.
26-Keeps logbooks of automation systems (type, manufacturer, supplier, PLC, failures, etc.) as required.
