Process Development Engineer

Nitto Bento Bantçılık San. ve Tic. A.Ş is a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan's listed leading diversified materials manufacturer Nitto.

We are currently accepting applications for our growing organisation located in Esenyurt / Istanbul where we produce closure system components for baby and adult diapers for hygiene market, as well as packaging tapes, surface protection tapes for window profiles, external facade panels, aluminum and steel plates for industrial sectors.

   Job Purpose and Duties: 

1. Work cross functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, Engineering, Safety, and Quality in production process definition and improvement, design, development, and quality test activities in the making of consumable products or support of processes/equipment used to sequence genomes

2. Troubleshoot production line issues and customer complaints related to yield, quality, and throughput. Implement the appropriate robust containments and corrective actions on identification of root cause.

3. Construct and execute controlled experiments to optimize processes, address yield and quality issues, reduce costs, and drive implementation of solutions in a production environment to meet production goals.

4. Improve the cost base within the plant, especially focus on further reducing scrap, process waste and shop floor productivity.

5. Alignment and support of the EHS-related activities to further drive towards Zero Incidents

6. Analyze process test results, issue reports, and make technical recommendations.

7. Transfer technology, and products from Development into a regulated manufacturing environment. Represent Operations needs on those Development teams.

8. Evaluate alternative technologies to create robust, reproducible, and scalable next generation manufacturing processes.

9. Critically review and analyze data, communicate results, present findings, and draft technical reports

10. Present ideas and data in cross-functional meetings

11. Implementation and integration of continuous improvement methods and studies in operations such as Kaizen, 6 sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, OEE..etc.

12. Observation and analyzing of existing processes and propose innovative and to-the-point solutions

13. Act as a project leader and execute the project plans

14. Execute time and job studies and report the solutions with action plans

15. Work towards process excellence based on value stream improvement plans, technology upgrade, improvement of key manufacturing processes.

16. Driving to improved results in the areas of product quality, cycle time and cost competitiveness.

     Skills/Qualifications:

1.  Master’s Degree or degree in industrial or mechanical engineer

2.  Able to communicate and discuss in technical English,

3.  Experience of production in global company (preferred)

4.  Team worker, self-motivated, self-starter, problem solver, analytical approach

5.  Good communication and presentation skills,

6.  No restriction for international travels.

7.  Knowledge of MS Office tools (especially in Excel)

8.  Energetic to spend time on the shopfloor

9.  Analytical/Statistical Tools & Methods - Knowledge of a wide range of problem solving tools & methods, including statistics, combined with the ability to select & apply them to make data based decisions to sustain higher levels of process or product quality. Six Sigma experience at Green-belt level is reason to preference.
