We are seeking a highly experienced Expert Transmission Engineer with strong hands-on expertise inEricsson, Huawei, and Aviat microwave transmission systems to support the design, deployment, optimization, and operation of our telecommunications transport network.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of nationwide transmission infrastructure supporting mobile and fixed network services. This position is ideal for a telecommunications professional with extensive experience in microwave transmission, IP/MPLS transport networks, synchronization, and network troubleshooting.
Position Summary
The Expert Transmission Engineer will be responsible for planning, implementing, operating, and optimizing microwave and transport network infrastructure. The role requires deep technical knowledge of Ericsson MINI-LINK, Huawei RTN, and Aviat microwave solutions, as well as experience with IP transport technologies, synchronization, and end-to-end transmission performance management.
Key Responsibilities
Transmission Network Design & Planning
- Design and optimize microwave transmission networks to meet capacity, availability, and performance requirements.
- Develop transmission architecture and migration strategies for network expansion projects.
- Conduct link budget calculations, path engineering, frequency planning, and interference analysis.
- Support network modernization and technology evolution initiatives.
Network Deployment & Integration
- Lead installation, commissioning, integration, and acceptance activities for transmission equipment.
- Configure and integrate Ericsson, Huawei, and Aviat microwave systems.
· Ethernet provisioning etc. via NMS and EMS
- Coordinate with field teams, vendors, and project managers during network rollout activities.
- Verify network performance and ensure compliance with design standards.
Operations & Optimization
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify service-impacting issues.
- Optimize microwave links for capacity, latency, availability, and spectral efficiency.
- Perform root-cause analysis and resolve complex transmission faults.
- Support network upgrades, software updates, and capacity expansions.
IP Transport & Synchronization
- Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 transport services.
- Support IP/MPLS transport infrastructure and carrier Ethernet services.
- Ensure synchronization compliance using SyncE, IEEE 1588v2 (PTP), and GNSS-based timing solutions.
- Support 4G and 5G transport network requirements.
Technical Leadership
- Provide expert-level support to NOC, field operations, and engineering teams.
- Develop technical standards, operational procedures, and best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge transfer initiatives.
- Participate in vendor technical discussions and solution evaluations.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in telecommunications transmission engineering.
- Proven hands-on experience with:
- Ericsson MINI-LINK platforms
- Huawei RTN microwave solutions
- Aviat microwave systems
- Strong understanding of microwave transmission principles and RF engineering.
- Experience with transmission network planning, implementation, and optimization.
- Strong knowledge of IP networking concepts and transport technologies.
- Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
