Job Purpose

Based in Turkey, leading up the technical part for the study of projects in Middle East for renewals or new contracts, lead or participate in project start-ups, support CI processes in the region. Working in a team with local and regional operations managers, engineers and experts to evaluate the best, innovative and value-adding solution for each project. Supporting the Business Development team to present and discuss with customers once all internal approvals have been received.

During the first 2 years, location of duties will mainly be the area of Osmaniye - Sariseki; preference of living in this area to avoid continuous travelling.

Job Summary

The position reports to the EMEA Engineering Director. The main responsibilities include:

-       In charge of the bidding process:

o   Support Business Development team to present and explain the proposals to the clients and negotiate new commercial contracts.

o   Technical and financial studies of new projects, establishment of approval documentation

o   Take care all existing Group Best Practices, Procedures and Standards are taken into account in the studies where applicable.

-       Participate and/or lead project start up teams once order received, ensuring the project adheres to budget and schedule, accountable for engineering tasks and meeting contractual client expectations and internal project approval conditions.

-       Having to spend a lot of time on the sites during study period and especially during start up of new projects.

-       Liaising and managing third party contractors to ensure all equipment is fit for purpose.

-       Possibly Multiple projects to be followed at the same time.

-       Communicating with all other technical managers in the region on all aspects of his job to guarantee a benchmarking process, informing others on new achievements, requesting support from others for problem solving.

Requirements:

Degree in engineering.

At least 10 years of technical experience in the metals industry.

Minimum intermediate level in English. Turkish is mandatory.

Qualifications

o   Advanced degree in engineering

o   Good technical experience in industrial mobile equipment and processing plants is a big advantage.

o   Knowledge of metals related market.

o   Entrepreneurial

o   Excellent communication and negotiation skills

o   Presentations skills at all levels of organizations and ability to respond to questions.

o   Experienced in working in the local industrial culture.

o   Ability to analyse data and make recommendations that are financially feasible.

o   Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, Project Management, AutoCAD skills

o   Ability to plan and organize.

o   Available for frequent and longer term travelling.

o   Very safety minded.
