Responsibilities

• Software development activities including design, implementation, documentation and testing
  
• Agile software development activities including

            - Participating in review/design process

            - Collaborating with mechanical engineers and simulation specialists

            - Producing high quality project deliverables on time

• Independent and autonomous development of concepts and solutions

Starting from understanding and maintaining existing software, the work is predominantly developing a new framework for reading, handling and visualizing large amounts of simulation result data. Initially, the focus is on developing an efficient data structure for simulation data, optionally using various templates. Existing interfaces to commercial FE solvers are to be optimized and integrated in order to import the data. Given algorithms (C++) are to be integrated and tested ensuring sufficient performance.

The calculated results are to be visualized (VTK) and a user interface (Qt or C#) has to be implemented. 

What do I need to qualify for  this job?

• BSc. or MSc. in computer science or a related area or equivalent proven experience,
• good command of German and English or  a very good command of English,
• strong programming skills in C++,
• experience in Qt is a strong plus,
• experience in VTK is a strong plus,
• experience with finite element simulation data is a strong plus,
• an independent, reliable and self-reliant way of working with a high level of commitment,

• knowledge and experience in the development methods and tools (debugging, versioning, tests) under Windows is preferred,
• experience with source control tools (Git),
• experience in Agile Development is preferred,
• strong problem solving and analytical skills,
• excellent interpersonal communication skills,
