QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Operations Manager

 

DIRECT REPORTS:

Deputy Operations Managers, Operations Coordinator, Group Leaders

DEPARTMENT:

PEAK DMC Turkey

LOCATION:

Istanbul, Turkey

 

POSITION PURPOSE

The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in the successful and profitable running of all PEAK’s Turkey trips and other specified travel products. They provide the main point of contact between Group Leaders and PEAK DMC office in Turkey and DMC Global Operations. Also responsible for the performance of the Operations Department, the Operations Manager contributes regularly to the overall direction of PEAK Turkey as part of the company’s Management Group.

QUALIFICATIONS, TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

·         Extensive travel experience in Turkey and a passion fortravel

·         Middle to senior level operational management experience

·         Travel industry work experience or experienced PEAK GroupLeader

Desirable

·         Deep understanding of the qualities that makes a good Group Leader inTurkey

·         Ability to communicate in English and Turkish

·         A strong ability to embed, monitor and action Policies and Processes 

SOFT SKILLS AND OTHER PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Essential

·         The capacity to oversee the successful resolution of emergency situations that may occur ontrips

·         Capacity to manage all operations to budget and outstanding organisationalskills

·         A thorough understanding of Turkish culture and businessetiquette

·         Initiative to develop and implement continuous improvement of methods for PEAK Turkey’soperations

Desirable

·         A strong knowledge of the PEAK brand’s style of travel, operating systems andtrips

·         The ability to manage and develop a large group ofemployees

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

 

Practical requirements of the job that might be outside normal boundaries

To travel to PEAK Turkey destinations, overseas conferences and PEAK Melbourne as required Be on call via mobile phone 24/7.
