Analyst, Commercial Asset Optimisation

The position works on dispatch and commercial asset optimisation of RWE's and other contracted assets in Turkey.

Core Competencies

• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Physics or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Master’s degree in a quantitative field is a plus
• Excellent knowledge of statistics and operational research
• Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English
• A person who is a team player, grasp new topics quickly, thinks analytically
• Essential for taking-up and pursuit of the business is a high psychological and physical load
• Academic/practical knowledge in power engineering and/or energy industry is a plus
• Professional experience outside of university, e.g. by professional training or internships in an energy related environment is a plus
• Must demonstrate effective results delivery, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation
• Must demonstrate strong ethics, leadership, interpersonal skills, ability to effectively manage stress, and engage in continuous learning

Qualifications

• Self-starter with and enthusiastic and flexible attitude to a changing work environment
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
• Preferably knowledge of Turkish electricity market
• Fluency in English both spoken and written level
• Strong intellect and the ability to absorb large amounts of information and extract relevant conclusions
• Ability to communicate results and provide clear and concise recommendations
• Resourceful and self-motivated with a strong commercial acumen
• Prepared to work simultaneously on various tasks and to appreciate challenges
• Detail-oriented
• Expertise in MS Office applications, and good knowledge of software development cycle is a plus
• Highly motivated and committed to excellence with a positive attitude
• Comfortable with working in an international environment

Typical Responsibilities

• Optimise the power plant utilization and keep an eye on available markets
• Managing the available position and dispatching the power plant with objective of maximizing the revenue generated
• Nominating the power plant’s power and gas positions to the related parties/markets
• Managing the short term gas and power positions of the power plant in line with the long term strategies
• Run and report CAO models and results
• Operate in coordination with CAO teams in the UK and Germany
• Follow the risk management concept and manage possible power plant outages
• Communicate with the transmission system operator, market operators and the power plant to ensure constant power generation and position management
