Purple Certificate Project Specialist

We are looking for a project specialist to join our team at Sabancı University, Center of Excellence for Gender and Women's Studies (SU Gender), Purple Certificate Program.

Gender and Women's Studies Center of Excellence at Sabancı University is a vibrant research center developing and conducting research, education, and awareness projects on contemporary issues in gender and women’s studies. The Purple Certificate Program is the oldest program conducted by SU Gender and the team of the program is composed of one coordinator and two project specialists closely working with SU Gender Director. The responsibilities of the project specialist include facilitating communication with the participants of the events and trainings organized within the framework of the Purple Certificate Program, supporting the logistical and organizational needs of the program, supporting cooperation with all public and private institutions, individuals and stakeholders, ensuring coordination with the Sabancı Foundation. Further responsibilities include organizing regular meetings for the Purple Certificate Program, conducting research on gender-oriented (international and national) material studies and pedagogical methods, supporting the publication and dissemination of the developed material through bulletins, website and other means, supporting communication with Sabancı University faculty members involved in the project, and supporting the administrative tasks related to instigating the Purple Certificate Program.

Qualifications

Holding an MA or Ph.D. degree in Educational Sciences or Social Sciences and Humanities,

Experience in gender-based research and training; experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis will be considered a plus in assessments,

Experience in developing and overseeing national and international training projects,

Excellent organizational skills,

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Turkish, conducting training activities in both languages, competency in a third language (particularly in German) will be a plus,

Proficiency in MS Office programs,

Excellent networking, team-building, organizational and communication skills,

Demonstrated ability and willingness to work with people from diverse cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds,

Ability to think critically, conceptualize ideas, and articulate gender-related issues,

Knowledge of basic research and data analysis methods.

Job Description

*Providing communication with the participants of the events and trainings organized within the framework of the Purple Certificate Program, supporting the logistical and organizational needs of the programs.

*Facilitating collaboration with all public and private institutions, individuals and stakeholders, ensuring coordination with the Sabancı Foundation, and holding regular meetings for the Purple Certificate Program.

*Conducting research on gender-oriented (international and national) material studies and pedagogical methods, supporting the publication and dissemination of the developed material through bulletins, web-site and other means.

*Enabling communication with Sabancı University faculty members involved in the project.

*Supporting administrative works that may arise during the execution of the Purple Certificate Program studies.

*Supporting reporting for each component.

*Ensuring that university students are involved in the project.

*Providing administrative support to projects and training activities aimed at raising awareness on gender issues within the university.

This position will be working with a fixed-term contract.
